How would you feel if it were someone else in our position?

If it was Southampton, who frankly I struggle to hold an opinion on most of the time they are so bland, then I guess I would think it was good to break up the big club hegemony.  If it was a club who I had a general dislike for for some reason (most of the others) then I would wish them doom and late failure slipping into 7th on the last day.  Hahhahahahaaahahhhaaa.

I think I'd be pissed off but, in saying that, when Man City won their first league title I was so happy and celebrated just cos it had ruined Man Utd's season

I had an absolute screamer of a day, in Mary d's opposite the etihad. I was with my mate and his son. It was unreal to witness, so many 'lads' crying, screaming roaring with pride. My mate ended up on the floor with his son, both hysterically laughing and hugging and both were teary eyed. I got off with 3 lasses on the way to the bar and I'm sure it would of been more but I'm an ugly sh1t.

It's this moment I think of when I start to imagine what it would be like for us to win it. I was overwhelmed with emotion as a neutral, obviously for my mate and his lad, to see such joy, just pure natural elation is a rare thing in life.

So I can't imagine how I'd feel if another 'little' club was in our position.

Because when I think of OUR position, I can think of nothing else.

Probably resentment...

Anyone except Forest or Derby breaking up our boring big club monopoly in England would be a good thing, so I'd be happy for them.

However, I'd also be a tad jealous and questioning why we, as a similar size/bigger club, weren't challenging.

The more I think about it, the more I think the Ranieri factor is a big reason why other fans see us as their '2nd team' this season. I reckon he's very popular amongst most neutrals and they'd love to see us win it so CR finally wins a league trophy. Without wanting to shit stir, I do wonder if we'd have so much support from other fans if NP was still in charge. I know that mates I have who follow other teams didn't like NP one bit, but they all seem to have a soft spot for the Godfather. I guess I'd like to see West Ham or Everton win it cos I like Bilic and Martinez, but wouldn't be keen on Palace or Newcastle winning it cos I think Pardew and McLaren are bell ends.

Bit off topic but I always disliked Bilic down to that incident with Blanc in the World Cup but I do like the guy now as he's come across really well this season.

When Swansea had that mini surge a couple season's back and when Southampton made a decent fist of it I was behind those teams both times and thinking "if only we could do that".  I was even excited for Man City to break up the hegemony all those years ago even if the 'throw lots of money at all the big names that will come here' approach left a somewhat sour after-taste especially once the FA started taking measures to prevent other teams doing the same thing essentially roping the top of the league off.  Until now...

What a stupid ****ing question.

A bit harsh. I've heard a lot more stupid ****ing questions on FT recently....

I remember being mildly amused and quite supportive of Norwich City's exploits in Europe in the early 90s, and I think that was pretty common across football outside of the big clubs (and Ipswich).

I can imagine that's what's happened with our recent exploits, too.

Second teams are for nonces I think. I'd probably be non plussed.

I'm not a massive fan of rooting for other teams and it would very much depend on who it was, Swansea and West Ham I could get behind I think and maybe Southampton. The rest can rot in their own filth.

All depends on who the club is/their players/manager. I celebrated a lot when Man city first won it and I was routing for West Ham and Southampton last season also.

If it was Bournemouth, Burnley, Villa etc. I certainly wouldn't be celebrating though

wouldn't go as far as saying i'd 'support' other teams... but based on the teams circumstances and context in terms of relationship with us... i would probably be a bit happier than if Arsenal/Manu/Man City won it.

Things will all change though once you do win it.... you become a big target.... especially as you have plenty more cash coming in and a team that wins the league probably will spend a lot more on big summer buys.

I'd be willing them to win it of course. Unless its a poverty team like AFC Bournemouth with no history, fan base, ground etc.

I was willing Southampton to go top four last season until they blew up.

I was cheering on Liverpool a couple of seasons ago and going back further Newcastle and Norwich, I think most people have an affinity with the under dog. Not so much Man City as they were like Chelsea just seemingly inevitable that they would end up buying the league.

In recent years I've also been willing Southampton, West Ham, Swansea even Villa and Everton to break up the big four.

Since the Premier league started we've had the domination from Man Utd based on that brilliant youth team but also spending a lot of money and every other team that won it has spent huge amounts, effectively buying the title, including Blackburn right at the beginning of it all.

Football has needed a club to come from nowhere to achieve success, spending relatively little in the process. This is what gives hope to fans of every other club, just to know that it's still possible, that it could be them. Without that, it all becomes a bit pointless.

On that basis, I'd love another club to be doing what we are and willing them to win the title but with certain clubs, I'd hate it at the same time.

Would be cheering on anybody I think.

The cartel of Chelsea/Man U/Man City have become so self serving and smug I'd even be cheering on Derby if they were fighting for the league with them.

We're giving hope to every team in football at the minute in a way that no owner/manager or bank balance can.

I always want the small clubs to win and do well.

I wanted Liverpool to win it a couple years ago when they lost it in the last 3 games. Poor little guys.
