Tom Lawrence: Ranieri doesn't give young players a chance

If you're good enough, you're old enough.

Can't see Gray moaning too much..

Lawrence was always one of Pearson's less good signings. He's bang average.

there is only one man who can make him pick him...and that's tom ...

I always remember O'Neill saying he doesn't pick the team, the players do.

If we had an 18 year old Messi in our ranks he would be old enough.

But would he be good enough?

Tbf it's very difficult for Renieri to change anything at the minute. Chilwell is obviously highly rated but unfortunately for him we have a superb left full back already, two years earlier and Chilwell would probably have been playing.

He was pretty dreadful when he came on whilst we were bottom last year, he's going to have to improve his game (and attitude) if he wants to get anywhere near a team at the top of the league!

This, I bet, is a classic case of a reporter twisting his words to suit an agenda - if you have ever been interviewed by a reporter you will know how it works!

Lawrence is still young and may well have potential even if he is not pulling up trees in the Championship yet - he seems to have put in some good performances and is regularly in the Wales squad.  We will see - of course he may turn out to be rubbish like that kid Kane we had on loan.

Was Lawrence played out of position by a tactical ostrich?

Sounds to me like he could be angling for a move. If you put in a transfer request you lose your loyalty bonus, if a club accepts an offer outside of a transfer request, the player gets a loyalty bonus. Its probably just an agent trying to get some interest in him....

Players have to give themselves chances to play. Vardy did it last season. He was a bench regular but put in the effort and proved that he was good enough.

Chilwell, Schlupp, Gray, Armatey....Mr Lawrence have a word with these lads.

Or twitty Sun journalist, get back to your barmates at Sevensisters...

Were they not wanking themselves silly over him at Blackburn previously? If he thought he'd done enough there to slide straight into the squad of a top-4 chasing side in January then he's a prat.

This is a 2 line tweet from a Sun journo with no direct quotes though so let's not jump all over him just yet.

Blackburn for 3 million.

A bit of an odd allegation when we've signed Gray, who looks one hell of a prospect and is still a teenager.

Average age of our first eleven is 28.1. Danny Simpson is our youngest starting defender and he's 29.

Kante is our youngest player and he is 25.

I know some of these players are late bloomers but there is a good maturity about our starting eleven.
