Tom Lawrence: Ranieri doesn't give young players a chance

Dissapointed to hear that.

He's not exactly tearing the Championship up and we're in the best position we've been in in history.

If he wants out then fair enough but I had high hopes for the lad.

Let's wait until we see an actual quote from  Lawrence and not some Sun hack paraphrasing him.

It's not like he was being played by Pearson then Ranieri binned him off.

(also Dodoo and Chilwell have had their chances this season)

Thats one off the wage bill end of the season then.  To be honest, I forgot he was still on our books.  And as harsh as it seems, even if he does stay, he's only going to be further down the pecking order after this summer is over as you'd assume perhaps two or three players coming in over close season at least, all of much higher quality than Lawrence is.

"We are building and looking for good, talented young players. For this reason Ben Chilwell and Demarai Gray are with us and this is our goal now, to build with talented young players"

Doesn't look like he's cutting the mustard and with comments like that he'll be shipped out in the summer. But seeing that there's not an actual quote there lets wait and see  lol

Ranieri would have probably had Chilwell as his first choice left back this season if we weren't absolutely smashing the league to pieces. I think he feels a bit guilty for not being able to get him involved in the PL but how can we risk him given the position we find ourselves in. I hope we wrap it up with a few games to spare and him and Gray can get a few starts, maybe even let Iversen play as well who sounds mustard.

It's hard for any young player to break into a top level PL team. If he was good enough he would be in the team, I've no doubt about that. We can judge his alleged statement in 10 years time and if his career is at Championship level then maybe the reason he isn't being picked now is because he's not good enough?

He certainly hasn't torn up any trees when I've seen him in a Leicester shirt but I'm not going to vilify him for a statement he may or may not have made. One thing I will say though we have been linked with a few teenage "wonderkids" like Dembele and Embolo so I'm positive Ranieri doesn't discriminate on age.

Amartey, Chilwell, Gray, Dodoo all given chances and all around the first team setup?

Lawrence can piss off to the championship where he belongs. Never gonna make it here.

He got his chance to prove himself in pre season.... including captaining the side in one game. He was pretty bang average... simple as that!

Probably bollocks anyway, but if he did say that then it's disappointing and he's probably going to be on his way this Summer. I like Lawrence though, we just cant afford to give every decent youth a go when we're top of the bastard prem.

Also judging by that u21 game yesterday, it would be suicidal to play anyone other than the youth that have already been given a chance.

Yeah... we're going for the first title in our history, what we should do is throw the kids in and give them some game time. lol

I'd be very cautious with such reports. Many journalists have that tendency of twisting words in the favour of their "story".

It could've been a "claim" by Lawrence, or simply a constatation. Why Cadden needs to use this piece as an attack on the manager is anyone's guess.

We've got a winning formula that doesn't need tampering with, some youngsters get match practice occasionally - so why bother?
