Vardy

They are when the player under performs but still picks up tens of thousands per week.

Making match bonus' more important to the wage would soon sort that out.

It is binding. Including the release clause WE were happy to put into it.

How do you know we were happy to put a release clause in the contract , where do you get this information from.

Not sure what Vardy is playing at now really. I'm wondering whether Leicester called his bluff, he doesn't want to leave, but hoped we'd match arsenal's offer, maybe we haven't matched it but he doesn't want to go to arsenal so is stuck in a lie.

Either that or he's waiting for other offers, perhaps banking on a good showing at the EURO's raising his stock further. That would be a big gamble, because it could very well expose his limitations when playing in a side not totally geared up to his strengths.

It's going to be so shit if we have to wait until after the Euro's for him to make a decision and his decision is to go to Arsenal.

From the fact is there's clearly one in the contract and we were happy to agree it.

I think the second could well be true.   Whatever it is it is ultimately damaging to team and club morale.    He needs to get on with it soon - Not wait for another month.

Or it's a massive decision, he's torn on what to do and he doesn't want to rush a decision he might regret.

If Wenger hasn't decided maybe a striker would be a good idea, he's perhaps shaking the boat, in the hope he catches Mahrez on his way out, however.

And since he is a cunning bastard, I wouldn't put it past him. If there's one player who'd shake the boat, Vardy is him (hi page 200).

Ian Wright did say Wenger should be running a country, not a football team. Perhaps he's the Lord Vetinari of the Prachett books...

Perhaps he sees Vardy as a loss leader to catch Mahrez or Kante or both.

Yeah cheers Jamie we'll just wait till the misses decides what you're going do. Someone at the club have a word with the whole of Europe and ask them to hang on to any of our potential signings cus Jamie hasn't made his mind up yet, infact can we just postpone the start of the season for a fortnight. Good grief, this bloke has turned into a right Billy big bollocks this year, personally I don't want him at my club. There, said it, que the abuse.

Potentially the dumbest shit I've heard all week.

What's the story if he gets injured ? Do the FA compensate us ?

Spurs asked for Christian Eriksen's wages to be paid when he was injured a few years back for Denmark, i'm sure they got them.  I read online that the FA has insurance t cover this.

Maybe in two or three weeks time Vardy will have an idea on how close Leicester City's ambitions match his own, going forward. If he can see that any players we have brought in demonstrate that we are serious about the Champions League and the Premier League next season, I am sure there would be a chance that he would stay.

For example, with Kante, Mahrez, Slimani, Mendy, Musa one or two new defenders and the new goalkeeper, that would be very difficult to ignore.

Maybe, but then, how unexpected was this offer to him? He knew he had a release clause, he must have expected some clubs would make an approach. Surely if you're in that kind of situation you can't help but wonder what type of offers you might get and whether you'd take them. He must have had some idea whether arsenal is a club he wants to play for even before the offer came in. Just like I know what kind of offer I would accept at work if a new job became available.

Whether we we were "happy" to have it included is irrelevant. The contract was signed by both parties, so there must have been acceptance by both sides on the terms of the contract.

You're assuming that when the release clause was negotiated he knew we were going to win the league and qualify for the champions league.

Everyone expected us to fall away, even then.
