sk1-fox-rou Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Alan Smith: “I will probably upset Leicester fans, but my advice is I think he should grab it [the chance to join Arsenal]. “The chances are this this kind of opportunity won’t come again and you have got to make the very most of your opportunities during the course of your career." twatSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SecretPro Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Is it bad I'm hoping for the impending England early exit to come true so we can sort this shit out and move on?! International football is so dull.
smr Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Alan Smith: “I will probably upset Leicester fans, but my advice is I think he should grab it [the chance to join Arsenal]. “The chances are this this kind of opportunity won’t come again and you have got to make the very most of your opportunities during the course of your career." bullshit, these guys and whoevers saying "you need to grab this opportunity" (in joining arsenal).... well dilly ding dilly dong mate - we've never been in the Champions League before - THAT, is a ****ing opportunity that will perhaps never be seen again for a long long time, it's unprecedented, it's never happened before, it's the start of a completely new and exciting era in a "smaller" club's history. If he left he'd be missing a monumental opportunity to play in Europe with a team that no one ever dreamed would be there.
dannythefox Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 I agree with Alan smith on playing for a big club thing but I believe he will play/score more and be appreciated more at Leicester it's his decision but if he doesn't perform there he'll end up at west Brom in 2years time.
sk1-fox-rou Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 The only positive thing that can come out of vardy moving to Arsenal is taking that lookalike with him. It was funny to start with but now it's as boring as this transfer saga [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gerard Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Opportunity for what? Join a team that your current team trounced by 10 points last year. The opportunity to join a team that doesn't play to your strengths. The opportunity to be played out of position in a team alongside a bunch of lazy, work shy inconsistent primadonnas. The opportunity to get injured by their dodgy training and then brought back too quickly from said injury. The opportunity to be happy with finishing 3rd or 4th and getting knocked out of the Champions league in the last 16 every year. The opportunity to sour his relationship with the fans that previously worshipped him and join a club where half the fans don't want him and are waiting for him to fail. No you're right Alan he should go and leave Leicester and give up the chance of defending the premier league title. Playing in a team built to bring the best out of him and thus raising his profile as he continues his great form. Give up playing in that teams historic first season in the champions league, as a pot 1 team no less. Give up the chance of prolonging his career by working alongside the best sports science department in the land. Give up on staying at a club that is obviously on a massive upwards curve, and miss out on finding out where that curve might reach. Give up on playing alongside his "band of brothers". Give up of cementing his legend status. You're spot on Alan these opportunities really don't come along very often.
Danizen Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 International football is so dull.Friendlies and qualifiers are but actual tournament football is great.
Finnegan Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 he injured Wilshere in training this morning :drinkynice:
katieakita Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Alan Smith really needs to wake up to the fact it is 2016 and not 2004. Just look at what has happened to us in that time to think how long ago Arsenal were the invincibles they keep telling everyone about. Teams like Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea have pushed on and it would stupid to think they will not return much stronger next season. Do Arsenal actually try to compete with them or are they more concerned about keeping 4th ahead of the likes of Spurs,West Ham, Liverpool and Leicester. Arsenal's recent claim to fame is their cup wins and success, don't get me wrong I would love us to win the FA cup, or League Cup but these competitions are tainted with most clubs using it as a run out for reserves and young players. Arsenal seem more concerned about dropping out of the top 4 than winning it.
Lesteban Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Someone needs to send Vardy a history of Ricky Lambert's career. When he came from way down the leagues to score a load in the Prem, score a "big club" move, causing him to waste away before moving to West Brom's bench. Happens to so many players, would be a shame to see him waste his last few good years. If anything, Lambert's game was better suited to advancing age than Vardy's. He should have stayed where the system was built for his attributes.
RowlattsFox Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Pundits always say players should take an opportunity to sign for a big club but then will say they should have stayed at the 'smaller' club when they are sat on the bench.
MikeyT Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Oh boy, here we go again. Who to believe now. I've come to the conclusion that nobody knows jack sh*t!
StanSP Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 I've come to the conclusion that nobody knows jack sh*t! incorrect. I know Jack is shit.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 I've come to the conclusion that nobody knows jack sh*t! He's over in France with Jack (Wil)shit right now. Speaking of shit, @@Carl the Llama got anything in the pipeline?
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 I've come to the conclusion that nobody knows jack sh*t! I know - I don't think anyone knows except Vardy and his agent, maybe his missus. The one consistent in all of this is Vardy's agent is playing games, doing a very good job for his client and his stock is rising without him kicking a ball. My view on the situation is that he's got to a place where he would take the Leicester offer, and that will remain and they will sit tight whilst they wait and see if anything will come in during the Euros. No need for Vardy to sign anything yet, as both Arsenal and Leicester are desperate for him, and are not going to threaten to drop their offer. Even if Arsenal do, someone else will come in or he will sign the new contract with us. Great place to be in for Vardy.

Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Paul Merson "flabbergasted" by Arsenal's interest in Leicester City's Jamie Vardy © Getty Images By Danielle Joynson, Staff ReporterFiled: Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 10:24 UK Last Updated: Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 10:25 UK Former Arsenal player Paul Merson has admitted that he is bemused by the club's decision to move for Leicester Citystriker Jamie Vardy. The Gunners are reported to have triggered the forward's £20m release clause in his contract, which he signed just four months ago. Vardy, who scored 24 Premier League goals in Leicester's historic title-winning campaign, is expected tomake a decision regarding a possible transfer after England's Euro 2016 campaign. Talk of a move has surprised Merson, who believes that Vardy is not suited to Arsenal's style of play. "I'm shocked," Merson told talkSPORT. "I'm absolutely flabbergasted with it. Arsenal don't get the ball forward quick enough for Jamie Vardy. No disrespect, but he plays at Leicester where everyone goes and has a go at them. "Twenty of his goals must have been over the top, balls that he is running on to, beat the goalie and great finish. You play for Arsenal, you kick off and the other team sit ten men behind the ball "Leicester suits Jamie Vardy, in my opinion. He is perfect for them. They play his way, they get the ball forward very quickly and he will keep on causing havoc. If he goes to Arsenal, I just don't see it. That is no disrespect to him. I'm not saying he won't get goals but I don't think he will get enough opportunities [at Arsenal]." Vardy also made a Premier League record by scoring in 11 consecutive game
Finnegan Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Merson talks a lorra waffle but that's pretty fair tbh.

AKCJ Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Not like Merson to get things so spectacularly wrong. "Twenty of his goals must have been over the top, balls that he is running on to, beat the goalie and great finish".
