One thing I've noticed this pre season is that he's definitely shooting in games more often.

is it just me that thought it was a rarity when Shinji actually had a shot last season?

Hope he has a big year for us as he is such a top little guy

He played the linkup role brilliantly, which saw him arriving in the box a tad too late to make a finish.

He was our best player in the first half Vs Man Utd, and will important in getting a 'blend'

Get your point, but last year he did have plenty of opportunities to shoot and he'd pass instead. He's often pass when it made more sense to shoot

I actually disagree.

Vardy was, until recently, unproven as a top flight footballer, absolutely. But he scored goals at every level he moved up to.

Lucas by contrast has struggled for goals everywhere until last year.

Lucas did a bit of an Ighalo last season by the sounds of things.

Something like 12 goals in 17 games til the winter break.

5 goals in 21 afterwards.

Everton in talks to sign him...shock horror!

Must say I'm concerned if Ranieri has dismissed Walsh advice and is going for his own targets now, none have yet to work out.

Could've been just the striker we needed... sigh

Claudio's neck is on the block if things don't work out now. He can't point to walsh's recruitment as being responsible. rather than question signings where we have no idea if they were/were not his doing, perhaps look at players who arrived at Monaco or Juve when he was manager there ?

Don't see where he'd fit in right now. If we are to get another striker it would surely be a powerful centre forward type.

Agreed Perez is too similar to Vardy and Musa (pacey, short and thrives off through balls). We need an upgrade on Ulloa or there's no point eg Rondon/Slimani. However I don't think we'll go for a striker now, CM and CB are priority; any injuries to Huth, Morgan or Drinkwater and it's looking sketchy especially in the CL.

Sorry, but.............what?

Teams don't perform = manager gets the boot.  if recruitment was being done without him being heavily involved as was the case under Walsh then he could point to this as being a root cause of us not pushing on and becoming involved in repetitive relegation battles (if that were to happen).  I assume he is now more involved in identifying players or at the very least when the stat guys first throw them at Rudkin and his team.

Everton are linked to everyone. Wouldnt surprise me if Perez didn't move at all.

Ranieri can sign who he wants imo, he won us the league and he isn't as shit at signing players as people are making him out to be.

It's worrying that we have seemed to have gone quiet since Walsh left

Gone quiet because Walsh has stopped telling everyone in the Woodies, who we're in for. As no one speaks to Rudkin I wouldn't expect as many rumours.

The club is definitely trying to get 2 more in but are reluctant to pay top dollar and other clubs are unwilling to sell. Still think we'll see some activity before the window closes.

And who would they be. Even when Walsh was under NP do you not think the manager had a say. Also if it was all down to Walsh not everyone of his worked. Kramaric was an expensive bit of shite that did not fit.

Don't think it's because of Walsh leaving.

Take away Everton, Man City and United this has been a pretty quite summer. The majority of teams have only made 2/3 signings.

we have been pretty active compared and think we have done well, we seem to have got targets early to settle the team and not panic buy - I think we will spend big on 2/ maybe 3 players in last week as we've had time to assess and think generally will be more movement as teams panic buy and players force moves.

Euros, Copa and olympics have got in the way this year.

Yes, I understood that part, thank you. To even suggest his head being within the vaguest vicinity of a chopping block though, after he was part of our club's greatest ever season, and then after one pre-season and 2 league matches concerns me just a little bit.

Bloody typical of that Walsh bloke, following us around and trying to sign every player we show an interest in lol

I think people are taking @st albans fox a bit too seriously... it seemed clear he wasn't implying he's now going to get sacked anytime soon. Just that if he's the one calling all the shots, ultimately it will be him who gets the flack if they don't work.
