ALC Fox Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 As if we're seriously trying to purchase Deportivo La Coruña's main man. Signing players from them and CSKA Moscow will never get old. It certainly beats having to make do with cast-offs from Forest (Gareth Williams) and Preston (Jason Jarett)!
chapero82 Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 Surely this would be a Kramaric replacement more than anything else? As musa can also play on the wing

I'd have thought we'd be looking at someone he's younger and possibly English so it doesn't affect the CL squad quota If you're referring to the stats on Transfermarkt, it's not always a good indicator of reality. They don't mention Perez's stint with Atlético Madrid C between 2007 and 2009, which roughly amounts to another 60 games in two seasons. Also, he only played a handful of games with Rayo and Karpaty Lviv when he was younger.

Bluearmyfox28 Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 Would much rather Slimani if we're too sign another striker. However seems to be more of a false 9 like Okazaki from that video.
TMELcfc Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 I think I'd rather a RB or CM but I'm not the manager who just won the league... So il give him the benefit of the doubt

HankMarvin Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 FOX HUNT Leicester target Lucas Perez as reports in Spain claim that Foxes will clinch £12.5m deal for Deportivo striker by end of the week Claudio Ranieri has been tracking 27-year-old since start of the summer, who's been compared to Jamie Vardy The Foxes have been keeping a close eye on the Deportivo La Coruna ace all summer and now, according to reports in Spain, they are close to clinching his signature. The 27-year-old shot to prominence in Spain last year after having a similar season to Foxes hero Jamie Vardy, netting 17 goals in what turned out to be over a third of the Liga outfit’s entire tally. Claudio Ranieri is not short of strikers, with Vardy partnered by Shinji Okazaki in yesterday’s Community Shield defeat to Manchester United, and record signing Ahmed Musa and Leonardo Ulloa - who could be set to leave - also in their ranks. Barcelona-based sources reckons that a deal could be sealed this week, with the player set to quadruple his wages. The Foxes were keen to do a deal earlier this summer but Deportivo have driven a hard bargain, with their man’s deal not set to expire until 2019. Lucas started out with Atletico Madrid’s C team before making a move to Rayo Vallecano. He hit 25 goals in 44 games for their B team but failed to make the cut in their first XI. He then headed to Ukraine for a stint with Karpaty Lviv, before he moved to PAOK in Greece. After 32 games and nine goals in his first season, he was then loaned to Deportivo two seasons ago – earning himself a permanent deal after six goals in 21 games. In Vardy-esque fashion he then fired in 17 times last season.

MPH Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 So this one might be a goer then? Merc don't usually quote unless they believe there's some substance to it? and what happened to slimani? I guess this would be instead of him... And we thought he was because ulloa was leaving! Plot thickens!
UPinCarolina Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 I am so confused as to what we will do up front, if true. I suppose the only sure things are Drinky, Vardy and Mahrez.
Tanya Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Apparently he is fast so that's great. I hope he's able to hold the ball up and is dangerous in the air. Leo is fantastic when it comes to that. I hope he also understands that he's not guaranteed first team footie. I assume he's competition for the 10 or false nine slot but Shinzi has been playing well and deserves first crack at it.
Jaspa Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Hmm Remember this from a month or two ago. Has that cheeky Nuge style run, looks lethal but his proven ability equates to one very good season in La Liga.

That's how I feel too. I love Shinzi and he's been a bit unlucky (he almost scored in the Charity Shield) but we can't rely solely on Vardy, Musa and Mahrez to score goals.

Finnegan Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 20 minutes ago, Pinkman said: Can say the same for Vardy. I actually disagree. Vardy was, until recently, unproven as a top flight footballer, absolutely. But he scored goals at every level he moved up to. Lucas by contrast has struggled for goals everywhere until last year.
foxy boxing Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 he will give us more options, as much as i love shinji he just does not hit the target often enough and it is the weakest part of his game, they should have him at shooting practice for an hour after every training session, come on shinji give us double figures this season?

One thing I've noticed this pre season is that he's definitely shooting in games more often. is it just me that thought it was a rarity when Shinji actually had a shot last season? Hope he has a big year for us as he is such a top little guy
Babylon Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 I think his agent has said something along the lines of he's not spoken to Leicester for 40 days, or as he said 40 days about they aren't speaking with Leicester. The translation is a bit of a jumble.
