davieG Posted 23 April 2017 Posted 23 April 2017 Why are people discussing the cup in here when there's a topic dedicated to it with a full discussion going on? Strange!

Tuna Posted 23 April 2017 Posted 23 April 2017 Carra's right that should have been a peno, ref bottled it.
martyn Posted 23 April 2017 Posted 23 April 2017 It's no wonder players dive. That was a stonewall penalty for Coutinho but no chance of it being given without falling over.
Ted Maul Posted 23 April 2017 Posted 23 April 2017 I can see why that one wasn't given- he was still left with a sitter after the foul.
Tuna Posted 23 April 2017 Posted 23 April 2017 Arnautovic penalty yesterday is the reason why players like that are not welcome at LCFC. Talented, but selfish and unreliable.

surrifox Posted 23 April 2017 Posted 23 April 2017 I see that Jeff is still wearing his trade mark gormless "what am I doing here ?" Expression

Talented, but selfish and unreliable. On their best days, both him and Shaqiri can be powerful, however they've been mostly dire and uninterested. That's the problem for Stoke, the latter, alongside having ageing players (Crouch, Given, Ireland) that hardly improve the team. Hence such an average and unconvincing side. But glad Jack Butland is back, had rated him before that unfortunate time-out. Sobhi does look like a good talent too, but feel this is the wrong club for him in terms of morale currently.

Talented, but selfish and unreliable. It's that old adage about a team full of individuals vs the team that's greater than the sum of their parts. In our recruitment under Walsh (and of course Pearson and Shakey) it seems we placed as much importance on a player's attitude and ability to fit in as part of a team of people as his ability as a footballer.
