gurru991 Posted 30 May 2016 Posted 30 May 2016 Derby need a lot things but I don't think a central midfielder is one of them so I don't see James going there. If anyone, he might try and resurrect Liam moore's career though. Would love to see Liam Moore back on track
Lambert09 Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 I loved Matty James, as many on here do. But heres the thing, there really isnt much between him and Kingy imo. Currently King is our number 3 CM and rightfully so, if we want to progress to the next level we need to be aiming to improve on what we have. So unfortunately that means that one would have to leave in order to keep the harmony of the squad as we dont want too many players not playing games. So personally I think we need to see both Inler and Matty replaced by a more quality midfielder. I would say just one as Armartey has a lot of potential in a DM position. I truly hope he goes on to great things.
TheLittleBigMan Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 Sell Richie and a loan move for matty. Pearson has good knowledge of the player and his injury so would be a great opportunity to get him up to speed. He's not gonna get that knocking around the u21's and i'm sure claudio would like to at least see what a match fit matty can do. We'll need to hit the floor running and even with a full pre-season I don't think he'll bust into the team straight off. He's been great for us and when I look at danny and vards breaking into the england set up i'd be reluctant to sell him off before we can really see what he can offer us under claudio.
FoxCal Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 Derby need a lot things but I don't think a central midfielder is one of them so I don't see James going there. If anyone, he might try and resurrect Liam moore's career though. I struggle to see that, personally, which is a shame because he looked like such a good prospect the year we went up. Having lost his place and never regaining it under Pearson here, followed by a loan spell at an average (at best) Championship side earlier this season, for most of which he was quite heavily criticised by Bristol City fans if I remember correctly, I don't think he could cut it at Derby at present. They're in danger of becoming serial chokers, if they aren't already, but they're a really decent Championship side and I see nothing but success for them under Pearson. We'll see I suppose, but I hope you're right. I think a loan at a side that should be at the right end come next May would be really good for him.
foxes21 Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 I love Matty. But Amartey is arguably Kantes back up, as well as being very versatile. So there's two players infront of James for the role he excels in.. James would get game time when Amartey goes to AFCON, but he strikes me as someone that just wants to play football. Personally I'd love to keep him & sign a couple quality U21 CM's who can cover the injuries etc.
Trelleh Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 would much rather him take these two than shakespeare and walsh...
Wymsey Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 I don't see Moore ever playing for us again. He's stagnated. Comes across as slightly arrogant as well imo.
TJB-fox Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 In fairness Bristol city were a complete and utter shambles when Moore was down there and he was playing with a hip injury, and their fans are morons- so I wouldn't pay too much attention to his unsuccessful loan spell. Having said that, can't see him playing for us again
Babylon Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 We won the premier league without him, even if he was fit would he have got in over king, inler, amartay? That's the point I'm making! He was injured at the end of last season, we signed Inler and Amartey since. The club has moved on since he last played and he's place has been filled. If he was fit we msy not have signed someone, but we did. Now we're more than likely going to try and improve what we've got, not go back to last season, so he'll probably have to move to start playing again. Considering he regularly got in ahead of King last season, it's hardly a stretch to imagine that he'd have got in again ahead of King and ahead of two people who couldn't get in ahead of King.
dorsetboy Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 yeah de laet can go i just think hes to attacking for the way we play , i think james might go on loan to get some match time in although i expect pearson to also try and get tom lawrence as i think officially hes still leicester player . also big was might be able to cut it in the championship so he might offer him a 1 year deal
Izzet is God Posted 1 June 2016 Posted 1 June 2016 I can't see the 'love-in' with Matty James. Always thought he was a championship player, certainly not a Premier League player. Totally agree with this...really don't see it. Let him go be best all round.
Izzet is God Posted 1 June 2016 Posted 1 June 2016 I'd like to put this thread down to people getting inflated egos over the league win but the fact is we've always had these idiotic discussions about Pearson and now apparently one of our best CMs in recent history who just happens to have been usurped during his injury by imo the best CM we've ever had and Drinkwater finding his element this season. Plus ca change... Best CM we've ever had?!? Behave, Kante's up there but one season can't make him the best CM we've ever had.
Ric Flair Posted 1 June 2016 Posted 1 June 2016 Best CM we've ever had?!? Behave, Kante's up there but one season can't make him the best CM we've ever had.. We've just won the league, man. This is without question the best side in our history so there's a fair few players who are the best we've ever had.
GingerrrFox Posted 1 June 2016 Posted 1 June 2016 . We've just won the league, man. All club legends but none of them are in N'Golo's league.
Ric Flair Posted 1 June 2016 Posted 1 June 2016 Kante shits all over Lennon, Izzet, Parker and Savage for a start. All club legends but none of them are in N'Golo's league. Agreed. He shits all over the likes of Gibson and other genuine quality of that era too. He was the difference in this side.
LegendOfJoe Posted 1 June 2016 Posted 1 June 2016 Kante is the best player that i have ever seen in a Leicester shirt - being only 19 I only remember the last 12 years or so but he's actually class and can make the jump up to world class. God i love that little man
Danno Posted 1 June 2016 Posted 1 June 2016 I don't get how people think players who played in an era when people had about 10 fags at half time in the dressing room can be better than someone who's just won the league against sides who've spent billions in total.

Blue tinted spectacles, and the overriding opinion that was has been is always better than what is now.
Izzet is God Posted 1 June 2016 Posted 1 June 2016 I'm not saying that Kante isn't a beast but he's had one amazing season. Same as all the lads and yes I for one fooking love it! We won the league! But being truthful cambiasso is and was (for me) an all round better player. He's won more things in his career than just our one season. Let's not get too big headed or carried away... Next year will be our true test. Yes this is the best season we have ever had as a club let's be honest none of us thought we would win the league at the start of last year and half of us had never heard of Kante....that's the point I'm making

Kante's had a much greater impact. In fact I've never seen a player like him before. Before this season he had the most tackles/interceptions in the top 5 leagues at Caen, same as this season. Not sure what will change about him next year? He may have just won the Euros with France and is likely to start for them
teblin Posted 1 June 2016 Posted 1 June 2016 Morgan is better then WalshIndeed.Walsh wasn't the best defender in the O'Neill team even.

You can't say a player is the best ever based on one season. Ok then, 2 seasons with his stats for tackles and interceptions. But still he's got a long way to go. I generally do think he will be a world beater but who knows what could happen...next year could be just as bonkers as last. This all started with me agreeing that I just don't see where the matty James 'love in' comes from!!!
theessexfox Posted 1 June 2016 Posted 1 June 2016 Kante's probably the best midfielder to ever play football, let alone play for Leicester.
