ealingfox Posted 31 August 2016 Posted 31 August 2016 Bet half the people telling us how much better Slimani is than Ulloa have never seen Slimani play apart from maybe a couple of World Cup games 2 years ago.

Maybe Bologne, Italy, is actually Boulogne-Billancourt, Paris. https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/g-lcfc#ac985d2 Any leads on Preki's whereabouts?

Only benfica and Porto can pay the wage of a good Sporting CP player. And benfica and Porto are going to the ucl. But if one good SCP player moves to Porto it's very very bad. It happened some years ago when J. Moutinho moved from SCP to Porto for a 11M fee. Moutinho was called 'maça podre' aka rotten apple. If it was to benfica at this moment it was even worse, because they are the biggest rivals - from Lisbon too - and we are in a war because we steal from them our manager Jorge Jesus one year ago and in return they took Carrilo from us - this player was ending is contract and he didn't sign a new contract because benfica was behind and made a very big offer for him.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 31 August 2016 Posted 31 August 2016 The only downside to this is my dad calling him, "that Islamic Salami guy".

On a sidenote, how would you rate the Primeira Liga and its teams? Is it really that boring with just three, maybe four major teams competing against each other for the title each season (Sporting, Benfica, Porto and maybe Braga)? Also, what's your take on Belenenses? Loved my trips to Lisbon, got yourself a really beautiful city there.

I don't know enough about mid-table and relegation clubs in the EPL to adequately do this, but what I do know is that Leicester is definitely NOT like boavista. They went deep into dept to win that title, and wouldn't have managed it if they president wasn't also the president of our League. There were a lot of dubious games in that season (and many more before and since) that went badly for the other contenders, and good for them. In fact, I'd say that what happened last season is nigh on impossible anywhere else. Spain, Italy, Germany, France, etc, I cannot see anything like that happening. 4 minutes ago, SCP1906 said: That would be impossible because all good Sporting CP players have an annual wage that's 30-50% of the season budget of smaller teams and thats not including a transfer fee. Doyen was behind it, and Casaretto was also delighted in screwing Bruno de Carvalho. Remember it was pinto da costa that broke the news he was going to benfica, so casaretto, for all his talk, just wanted to screw us as badly as possible.

Koke Posted 31 August 2016 Posted 31 August 2016 Sporting produced 2 of Portugal's greatest ever players. No other player who has come through Benfica and Porto can compare to Figo and Ronaldo. Although I still loved Rui Costa personally.

Amazing that there isn't. I'm sure they did look. If they wanted it doing in Italy... they just chose the best route to get there. Andrea Azzalin is on the Sports science staff and we could have sent our Rennie or anyone else we needed.

In this case Leicester are Sporting, best team in the league great fans and play great football. Chelsea are Boavista, scummy club that finished midtable last season, corrupt and morally bankrupt, would you still love Slimani if he left Sporting for Boavista?

The only other clubs here that could afford him would be porto and benfica, but no, not likely.

brucey Posted 31 August 2016 Posted 31 August 2016 I read about 50 pages of the Silva thread on their forum yesterday and it seemed they came to the conclusion that it was 100% of Silva they owned, after reclaiming the remaining portion recenlty
