I've seen enough over the last 12 months to feel that it's systems and not individuals that win games (and titles) and that whilst we should always look to improve the side, it's not always that simple. To spend £25m on a player who we'll have to adjust our system for seems a crazy gamble, especially with £25m worth of strikers already sat on our bench. I think you will see different style for different opponents as we move forward plus Slimani works hard but if you add Musa as a wide man as well as front man option we will still be able to adapt to keep the basis that made us successful. We have to keep adapting as we will find it much harder after our success and improving or adding extra dimensions is imperative.....it has its risks but sadly real quality that we know can deliver costs big money....we do need a no.10 or strike partner for Vardy/Musa and similarly another midfielder imo

I'm saying we don't need him and seem to be buying him (at a very high price) to stop others getting him, and after a poorish start to the season (given this would've been sorted before 3pm today). Big clubs like Real Madrid buy players so other clubs can't have them and they don't do badly so I'm all for a bit of doing that.
SheppyFox Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 Islam Slimani to Leicester It’s not yet been confirmed, but according to Spanish paper AS on Saturday night, reigning Premier League champions Leicester have won the race to sign Sporting CP striker Islam Slimani ahead of West Brom. http://www.101greatgoals.com/news/transfers/leicester-beat-west-brom-to-sign-islam-slimani-as/
ramadaone Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 Think it was Mr Pearson who said that ultimately it's strikers / goals that define how good a team is and you can't have too many of them

SheppyFox Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 Slimani bid is reasonable and has been accepted in principle but he will play for sporting tomorrow. Better hope he doesn't get injured. From LCFCNEWS Twitter thing.
Phube Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 If he goes to West Brom instead of us, there is no hope for... Actually, no there is just no hope!

If he goes to West Brom (which he won't) then that will just prove that we weren't even in for him. No one in their right mind would leave a Champions League club (and a good club at that) to join West Brom when they can join the current English Champions, they just won't.
Bamba's Babes Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 Ulloa is utter pony. He offers us nothing from the bench.
