Really hope we can get a deal done for him, he'd be an excellent addition and might give Mahrez a boost too. Him, N'Zonzi and a RB would be a great end to the window but I wish we'd made these (alleged) moves earlier on!

Slimani wants out of the club & nobody wants to pay his release fee. The longer we leave it, the more Sporting shit themselves they're left with an unhappy player. Maybe they will be willing to accept less & cash in, rather than hold out & get nothing.

I'm sure he's been unhappy every transfer window since we showed any interest even refusing to train but somehow the window comes and goes and he goes back to train and play.

How would you know the clubs transfer policy? For all we know they could be working on deals not even reported yet we simply don't know. What do you want the club to do? Come out and say we are in for this player and this player we are loaded money is no object? Our transfer policy has served us well for years so why doubt it now? Your post is ridiculous.

Because there's so so so many things that can go wrong with transfers- hence why we probably have hundreds of players in our scouting database in case one deal just can't go through. I'd rather my club take a little longer than usual to get the players in if we're getting them at slightly lower prices. All those savings add up long term! On a side note, I don't think we're done. The way Claudio and Top have been chatting in the press about transfers has been quite suggestive and coy. I'd be surprised if we didn't buy one, possibly 2 if we're lucky by the end of the window. Even if we don't manage to get a deal over the line, I'd be absolutely gobsmacked if we aren't trying to sign someone at the moment- I think Ranieri knows we're a bit short in some areas.

Yeah 30 million euro is a lot of money but don't see anyone better we can get for the same money, the price is what it is, football has gone nuts. We need someone that will be better than what we have, there is no point signing squad players now. If reports are to be believed we have been after Slimani for a quite a while which makes me think this is a player Walsh really wanted. If that's the case then that's good enough for me. Pay the 30m euros get Nzonzi and be done with it. Those 2 with the players we already have and I think we get through our champions league group. Hardest game Porto, wouldn't want to bet against Slimani scoring a couple against Porto over the 2 games.

I'd rather my club splashed the cash to get players in fast and do a Chelsea or a Man City as opposed to a Southampton or a Stoke to be honest, it's the 27th August so unless we take the above approach then we are most likely going into the post transfer window empty handed.
