We bid £30m for Deeney & for me Slimani is a lot better than Deeney so why not splash the cash? Silmani is a massive gamble though, he's already quite old and has only performed in a league which is notorious for producing frauds. While the Deeney valuation was ridiculous, it at least had more logic. He was in the same league so will always be more expensive, homegrown and has proven himself at this level. We also don't need another striker anyway unless Leo is going.

I think we do need another striker as we start with 2 and use 2 from the bench most games which we wont be able to do if one of them gets an injury or suspension.

You're right we probably don't need another striker, we need maybe 2 or 3 while keeping Leo. People are saying this will pave the way for Leo to go? I hope not. We might have a chance of playing possibly 60 games this season with a good run in the cups and perhaps a Europa League swansong to fall upon on. Vardy, Slimani, Ulloa, Okazaki, Mussa that's all we'd really have? I'd like to see an extra striker on top of that to give us 3 options of 2 pair. How people think going into a massive campaign with 4 strikers is beyond me. You pick up a couple of injuries and you're left with 2! In fact, I'd like 7 strikers in an ideal world this season...

The fact that his head is glowing like a light bulb suggests it's been done in Deluxe Paint on the Amiga. They have done a great job with the Pop Eye triceps though, obviously moved muscle from the biceps for this one by the looks of it...
norwichfox Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 It's probably been asked before, but is Slimani Cup Tied for Champions cup?

Hmm, I guess you could make the argument, I think other areas need to be addressed beforehand though. But this signing would be a marquee player and you'd have serious issues with balancing out playing time between the 5 of them, Ulloa already reportedly disappointed with his playing time. I think if we're to sign another striker it should be someone a bit raw and for the future rather than a 30 million marquee signing.
MarriedaLeicesterGirl Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 Supposedly he now has an English work permit, but Twitter seems 50/50 on if he is going to Leicester or WBA...but 100% certain another Arsenal target slips through Wenger's fingers.

sdb Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 Feels like a panic buy to me. We've already seen how loose we look without Shinji. Leo is as good a rotation player you're going to get without moaning constantly and Musa at £16 is barely getting a look in and surely can't be considered a long term winger given the shift Albrighton puts in. Can only assume Leo is off which is gutting and loses us a certain type of player we lack.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 He's not going to Arsenal anyway after they've signed Perez
