Why on Earth are you all accepting that this will be the line up. The line up won't be announced before 5pm at the earliest tomorrow. This is based on what's been guessed at from training

Frenzied overreaction in response to probably inaccurate 'leaks' of line-ups and formations is what tournament football is about, my friend  ;)

If he's not playing 4-4-2 then I'd start Kane up front on his own. Don't want to see Vardy on the wing again he is ineffectual there*

*Although give him half a season to get used to it and I'm sure he'll tear it up like he has as striker lol

Probably because they were the two best fullbacks in the league this season or something?

No chance! They can both support an attack sure but they don't defend effectively. Plus they both play like academy robots: run fast.... give and go..... overlap..... low cross into the daaaaanger zooooone, same every time . It's going to be painful watching these two after we've been used to real ful backs in Fuchs and Simpson

That France side is ****ing ridiculous, except Giroud.

If Benzema wasn't such a pratt they'd be ****ing amazing.

The France team does indeed look ridiculously good and they may well win the whole thing, but I don't think they'll find it easy tonight. Romania had the best defensive record in qualifying (two goals conceded in 10 games) and are no mugs. You can get odds of 12/1 for them to win tonight, which is ridiculous.

3 man midfield of Dier, Rooney and Alli. Christ

How are we 4th favourites to win it  lol

Just as a comparison, let's look at France's midfield

Have they tallied the number of selfie's each player has taken?

France's players that haven't been able to go to the Euros would still beat our first team as well. They've got some ridiculously talented players these days.

It was only 2010 when we had three on 20+....

Did we? Rooney, who else?

I was thinking back to '98.

This is why i hate having Leicester players in the England squad. its impossible to be neutral on the situation. If Roy chooses to start with a lone striker, there really isn't much to separate Vardy and Kane this season. I would rather have Vardy come on for the last 20 minutes up front than look lost on the wing for 90

Why would you hope for that?

because the nation needs a wake up call. best thing for england is to get battered and be forced to overhaul the entire team for the world cup

That side has to be on a par with their team in 98. You'd still want Zidane, Thuram, Djorkaeff and Lizarazu though

France's team seems very old

Would expect Coman to start personally

Only 3 players 30+.

way too much negativity about this......

as soon as woy realises the spurs boys are bottling it he will bring Vards on, I can see him starting against Wales though

its a squad tournament right ??

Sterling has the potential to have a good tournament. Lallana though is just not good enough, what does he offer apart from the odd step over? He might look fancy on the ball but he doesn't assist or score enough. Also unsure on Alli and Rooney in CM not natural enough for me and has the potential to leave a very erratic Dier exposed.

We have a man in charge that if given the chance, would start 11 Wayne Rooney's.

More likely that golden boy Rashford is in ahead of Vards.

Their issue, as shown at times tonight, is at the back with the absence of young full backs and Varane in the middle.

2000 we had the top two prem scorers and lost in the group stage.
