BBC vs ITV Euro 2016 coverage

I thought some polls and discussion on this might be interesting, because I think this is closer than its been for years - for example, in terms of the opening titles, I think I prefer ITV's (although having fatty Rooney for Paris seems a bit silly).

I also think ITV have got a better balance with pundits now, even if they still ruin that by having Hoddle babble on in the commentary box. The Beebs lineup on the otherhand is maybe lacking a fresh face - could we have seen too much of boring predictable Shearer and co?

I've always preferred the ITV opening titles for major football tournaments. But for everything else, BBC comes out top.

Another minus point for ITV is not showing the most important games of the England/Wales campaigns on the main channels, also, no HD option for the Wales game. Very poor.

The only thing I can really commend ITV for is the fact that they don't have Adrian Chiles digging up comedy gold at half time, like a bird sat on a cross bar ("this guys got the best seat in the house", that was a real comedy observation he once made!!)

Harsh on Shearer who is probably the BBC's best pundit now. Improved no end in terms of analysis and putting his points across.
