DJ Barry Hammond Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 I thought some polls and discussion on this might be interesting, because I think this is closer than its been for years - for example, in terms of the opening titles, I think I prefer ITV's (although having fatty Rooney for Paris seems a bit silly). I also think ITV have got a better balance with pundits now, even if they still ruin that by having Hoddle babble on in the commentary box. The Beebs lineup on the otherhand is maybe lacking a fresh face - could we have seen too much of boring predictable Shearer and co? Comments and thoughts please!
Nalis Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 ITV BBC BBC In terms of commentary and punditry BBC absolutely shits all over ITV.
lestajigs Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Does not answer your question, but both are shit, so so so behind sky
Fox92 Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 ITV opening credits are much better. I like Mark Pugatch (excuse my spelling), much better than the previous. BBC commentary and pundits are better.
Amin Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 I've always preferred the ITV opening titles for major football tournaments. But for everything else, BBC comes out top.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Slaven Bilic has been the only decent pundit through the whole thing so ITV for me.
Wymsey Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Jonathan Pearce probably one of the best around. ITV seem to be mistake-prone.
Fox92 Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 I do like Bilic. Seems like a person I could talk football with over a pint.
Matt Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 BBC 3 out of 3. ITV just cannot do sports coverage, end of. I'm dreading the horse racing going to ITV.
AKCJ Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Jonathan Pearce probably one of the best around. Shitposting at its finest.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 20 June 2016 Author Posted 20 June 2016 Shitposting at its finest. Wasn't sure if that was serious myself? "How do we know this technology works!"
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 20 June 2016 Author Posted 20 June 2016 Of course now I've put this up, ITV will cut to commercial at a key moment in the match now!
Blarmy Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 ITV are shite. Even their in-match graphics are terrible.
ScouseFox Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 i bbc'd it all the way through but bloody wrighty, hero.
Ian W LCFC Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Shitposting at its finest. I love JP! He's hilarious.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Really, really, really hate the footballer caricatures that ITV are using that you would struggle to know who they are if they didn't put their names up too.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Another minus point for ITV is not showing the most important games of the England/Wales campaigns on the main channels, also, no HD option for the Wales game. Very poor.
foxfanazer Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Just for Hoddle alone I'd say BBC. Although Lawro is annoying too
21st Century Fox Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 The only thing I can really commend ITV for is the fact that they don't have Adrian Chiles digging up comedy gold at half time, like a bird sat on a cross bar ("this guys got the best seat in the house", that was a real comedy observation he once made!!)
Aus Fox Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Be grateful you don't have Richard Keys presenting... Grade A bellend
Trav Le Bleu Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 The ITV 4 picture for the Wales game looks like it was filmed in the 1960s.
jammie82uk Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Another minus point for ITV is not showing the most important games of the England/Wales campaigns on the main channels, also, no HD option for the Wales game. Very poor. thought there was an HD channel for all the itv's channels
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 boring predictable Shearer and co? Harsh on Shearer who is probably the BBC's best pundit now. Improved no end in terms of analysis and putting his points across.
