PhillippaT Posted 21 June 2016 Posted 21 June 2016 I love JP! He's hilarious. I've always had the feeling he still prefers Robot Wars - it's easier to be more 'enthusiastic' about?
AyewJoking Posted 21 June 2016 Posted 21 June 2016 have bbc had an england game yet? off topic but do you think HD is a con? non HD football looks worse than it did before HD came along, do you think we're being conned? back on topic the bbc coverage in general just feels more "polished" I'm always a tiny bit disappointed when i see the game is on itv.
Footballwipe Posted 21 June 2016 Posted 21 June 2016 Pundit wise I can't see too much difference. ITV have struck gold with Bilic, Dixon is good and Ian Wright says what he thinks, which isn't always bad. BBC have the same old faces and I've never been offended by them to be honest. I quite like Murphy, Jenas and Shearer. Even Mark Lawrenson's half-arsed co-commentaries have a charm. ITV do not have the best commentary line up, though with UCL highlights and major tournaments it's no surprise. Tyldsley is the man but Joe Speight has really impressed me. Done a lot of our games for Sky's Match Choice in the last couple of seasons. He's a good one. Sam Matterface is not good, however, he's got a wallpaper tone and voice. If he wasn't there you wouldn't notice. BBC have Mowbray, Wilson and Brotherton, who I'm a fan of. Pearce is marmite though, one game he'll be great, the other he's dreadful. IF only he'd hark back to his excitable Capital/Channel Five days Titles though. God. 1998 was the pinnacle for these two, the BBC's was classical, ITV's was upbeat, punchy, they are fantastic. Both of this year's seem to be trying to hard, but the BBC's wins because it has some element of football in. The cartoon/graphic footballer thing was done by BBC in 2008 and it just doesn't feel like you're about to watch a football tournament. Dreary.

I think it's more that you get used to the quality of HD so when you end up going back to SD it looks worse than it actually is.
Beliall Posted 21 June 2016 Posted 21 June 2016 I think it's more that you get used to the quality of HD so when you end up going back to SD it looks worse than it actually is. blatant con. SD tv looks fine on a SD TV, but watch it on a new TV and it looks ****ing rubbish
Leicesterpool Posted 21 June 2016 Posted 21 June 2016 Give me either Lineker or Gabby Logan any day. I find the ITV presenters and pundits irritating. Quick question but how do you pronounce France?... as it or "Frarnce?"

RonnieTodger Posted 21 June 2016 Posted 21 June 2016 BBC are better for commentators for the bigger games, but I'd rather mute it than listen to Jonathan Pearce. What a nobhead that man is.
StanSP Posted 21 June 2016 Posted 21 June 2016 BBC by a mile for everything. Prefer the BBC pundits but don't mind Slaven Bilic for ITV.
Guest Electric Yetis Posted 21 June 2016 Posted 21 June 2016 ITV have Bilic, BBC have Hoddle, say no more.Except Hoddle is also ITV.
Matt Posted 21 June 2016 Posted 21 June 2016 As I said I voted BBC clean sweep but out of all the pundits I do like Bilic the best but as a whole BBC have better. Bilic is a proper WUM, but whilst he is wumming it's all true.
Raj Posted 21 June 2016 Posted 21 June 2016 ITV have bilic,Wright and lothar. BBC have jermaine jenas!!!
Mike Oxlong Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 Itv commentator has just said that Insigne, the Italy substitute is 5 foot 4 inches tall, "the same height as Victoria Beckham" . Well thanks for that nugget of information fella
Tuna Posted 27 June 2016 Posted 27 June 2016 Imagine how miserable the euros would have been had Adrian chiles still been on the itv coverage.
Kitchandro Posted 27 June 2016 Posted 27 June 2016 Itv's opening titles, for once, are far better. The rest of their coverage is diabolical however. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
