Idiakez reunited with Pearson as Derby coaching staff

Well no disrespect to the u16s, but to join the first team coaching staff or become an assistant manager is a significant step up so cant begrudge him that. It would be a natural progression for him....

What MPH said, plus the fact that he played at Derby.

I agree that we don't want to be losing staff, but I wouldn't have thought that the under 16 coach would be particularly difficult to replace.

As long as that is where it ends,I don't want Pearson taking anymore staff or players. Always hate it when a former manager of a club takes staff and players from a club he once managed with him to his new club

I think this is slightly different, its not like the manager has exactly took a promotion as such, I cant see the queue of players and staff wanting to join Derby from the premier league champions being very long!

Well he's an ex favourite of theirs and it would be a step up from the under 16s so fair play.

At first I thought it was going to be Mike Stowell and thought wtf he must be the longest serving coach no way would he go lol

We want him as assistant manager as well according to our takeover rumours.

The supposed Spanish manager coming in (Lopetegui) is Basque the same as Idiakez.

He's worked with Pearson before though I assume so who knows what he'd choose.

Thin end of the wedge ...   DeLaet ??  James ??   This chap ??  Then who next ??   It means he will have more and more contacts here through the people he gets ...    he doesn't like Leicester City.

Tell him to fook off and have no dealings with him whatsoever ......     unless we want to buy one of their players

P.S.  Quite like Nige though ....

He's highly rated as a coach, and he was good when he was a player too if I recall. The prospect of joining Derby and Wolves in an advanced role, would be a good step in his career I feel. We'll have to see...

Pearson as awkward as ever with his media interviews

Reporter: "You would like him to come here and be part of your coaching team?"

Pearson: "Well I think that speaks for itself"

lol lol lol

He wasn't being awkward at all. He'd just answered a question about Idiakez hopefully joining Derby and then was asked that question above. If you ask a daft question, you tend to get short shrift.

Idiakez has been wasted here, he's a very good, progressive coach who should have been given a bigger role in our academy. He should be kept hold of if possible but I think we're clueless in that department right now.

Sorry lads, it's a done deal. And as you can see Nigel is quite pleased with himself.

What do you expect when Rudkin is in charge of it? He's shown his ability as DoF with the release clauses
