Lcfc_lass10 Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 I'd keep him. He's had a good impact during games this season, especially against West Ham with the penalty. He offers something different & can change our style of play, when we need it. He's definitely improved over time.
Dan Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 I don't really see the point unless he wants to go. It's decent money (only Heskey went for more in our history) but he's still got something to offer I feel. Yet again I'm convinced if this is the other way around we're getting quoted double that.
EnglishOxide Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 We are going to need a battering ram up front sometimes and Leo is the man. Keep.
Gerard Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 In Okazaki & Ulloa we have two strikers who are 30 and probably won't be in the first XI. It's good business to sell one of them for £10m although out the two I would prefer to keep Ulloa.
sylofox Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 Not a chance for £10m. I said this last year and again now. Who would we replace him with for £10m as a better target man who's happy to rotate and not start every game? He's superb at what he does and underrated by so many. Unless we went and spent £20-25m on a significant upgrade and someone to start every game alongside Vardy I wouldn't even considering accepting. Not really a case of who you get for 10m it's a wage off the books that can be added to a better player. Also means we can add that to what we have to replace him or buy us another player on top. Also don't get this major part in last season. Yes he got some vital goals but was not a major part.

It's good business to sell one of them for £10m although out the two I would prefer to keep Ulloa. On the flip side I think we're quite low on forwards as it is. We'll do well to bring in a replacement who's happy to be in and out, who'll still get a steady number of goals, for the price we'd get for Ulloa. That's as well as needing another forward. For me we still need a striker and that's if Ulloa stays. Making a profit on the back of signings we made a couple of years ago could be argued good business but I'm absolutely convinced if we went for someone of his calibre they'd be asking for a lot more than £10mil in this market.
TJB-fox Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 Proven premier league goalscorer who seems happy enough to be rotated, is popular with the fans, isn't on huge wages, who offers us something completely different to what we have and who has played a part in our recent successes and people would accept 10m? In today's market I'd honestly want double that. Don't sell please claudio
HoustonFox Posted 13 July 2016 Posted 13 July 2016 Some weird logic on here. So our second choice (but lovely guy) striker is worth almost as much as their premium attacking fulcrum who just had a great Euros?! IF it were to be a swap deal, we'd have to give them Leo and at least 12-15 in these market conditions. Some people losing a bit of perspective after winning the league. We are bigger but not MASSIVE
MC Prussian Posted 13 July 2016 Posted 13 July 2016 Tricky - would we ever get £15m for a soon-to-be 30-year old striker again whom we bought out of the Championship for a then unheard of £9m? Although part of me would miss his persona and what he offers on the pitch in terms of his positioning up front and having an extra centre-back against opposing dead ball-situations. Just another one of those pros who has never uttered a single negative comment, even if he didn't play that often. His positivity would be missed at Belvoir Drive.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 13 July 2016 Posted 13 July 2016 No way, £10m is chump change for Premier League teams nowadays. He's worth more to us as part of the happy squad spirit and as an alternative way of playing. Infuriating at times with his loose control but you can't help but love the guy. He's been a superb signing for us and I actually think he could have a really big season for us if he stays.
bald reynard Posted 13 July 2016 Author Posted 13 July 2016 Would we do a swap with Gylfi Sigurdsson?? That might well be what will happen, Hitesh. They offer £10m, we say no, we'd only consider a swap with Sigurdsson (who they probably price a lot more than £10m), they say, "OK, we take Ulloa as part-ex and you pay £?m". We say, "yes" !
Innovindil Posted 13 July 2016 Posted 13 July 2016 The people that are saying sell him and replace with xx will be the same people complaining about how Kante wasn't loyal when he leaves, it works both ways. Ulloa was instrumental in the title run, cause the biggest man made earthquake at the KP with his late goal and has never complained about sitting on the bench yet gives 100% every time he comes off it. Unthinkable to sell him.

Tom1983 Posted 13 July 2016 Posted 13 July 2016 If he wants first team football then we should let him go. Its not his fault he is our second choice striker and dropped even further down the pecking order now Musa has signed
Dan Posted 13 July 2016 Posted 13 July 2016 This Sigurdsson swap deal talk is pure fantasy. How many swap deals have there ever been? Only ones I can remember is Cole & Gallas, and Eto'o & Ibrahimovic.

Dan Posted 13 July 2016 Posted 13 July 2016 wasn't sigurdsson to swansea a swap deal? Mare on my behalf if it was but it actually rings a bell now you say it. Hahaha it was as well. Point kind of stands as it's very rare but you never know.
theessexfox Posted 13 July 2016 Posted 13 July 2016 The type of squad player that we'd love to be able to recruit when we're looking around for players to add, so why would we let him go? He scores when he gets a run of games and when he doesn't, he works hard and contributes where he can. He has his flaws but I'd say he's worth more than 10 mil to us, particularly in the current market.
EGBFitness Posted 13 July 2016 Posted 13 July 2016 Happy for Leo to stay in all fairness but wouldn't be too disappointed if he went. As long as we have an upgraded target already in place would be good business for the club and for Leo. Weren't his biggest fan for the majority of the season but really stepped up towards the end.

ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 13 July 2016 Posted 13 July 2016 wasn't sigurdsson to swansea a swap deal? Think it was part of the deal that took Ben Davies to Spurs?
