Schlupp - West Brom

Looks like this may happen.

3rd choice left back and way down the pecking order as a winger. I really like Jeff and what he's done for the club but pace aside he doesn't really have that much to offer. If we are only going to keep him because he is quick then on that basis lloyd Dyer should never have left and there would have been no need to sign Mahrez.

He's still young and it would be a shame to see him go, but I just don't see him ever reaching the top, top level as a player as (sorry Jeff) he doesn't have the football brain.

I'll be astounded if we let him leave.  To bring on his pace with 20 minutes left in a game where plan A isn't working and you need a goal is invaluable.

Would you really bring him on ahead of guys like Musa, Gray, Ulloa or Kaputska etc if we needed a goal?

Ulloa more so when we're under pressure and need the height for an 'out', he's also great defensively in the context of us being awful at defending setpieces

Musa not really comparable & at his value he'll be in the starting line-up once he's bedded in. Gray & Kaputska more comparable and he may or may not be behind them, we have six EXTRA games before Christmas alone, we shouldn't be selling anyone, and if anything adding.

Him & Musa were absolutely brilliant against Barca.

I'm tipping Jeff to be our best player next season. There's no way in hell we're selling him.

How is that gojng to happen when he'll barely get any game time?

It has to be said that if you're judging on pre-season game performance it'd be Albrighton that drops down the list. If it all clicks for Schlupp, he'll be lethal. I guess the coaching staff will know what's best. Something looked very much improved with him in pre-season though

He'll be starting every game soon.

We have great depth in the wing position, Claudio said he wants 2 players in every position, meaning 4 wingers yet we currently have 5.

I honestly can't see Jeff getting much game time this season, sometimes I can't even see him making a squad of 18.

I've been a fan of Jeff, he has been very useful in the past two season's; however Mahrez, Albrighton & Gray are ahead of him in the pecking order while Ranieri obviously has big plans for Kapustka.

£11 million, I'd take it and use it towards buying a defender.

I would be astonished if Schulpp managed to overhaul two of Mahrez, Albrighton, Gray and Kaputska.

Who do you think he replaces?

Albrighton on the left.

Wasn't he still like French fourth tier at 19?

So that was before he went to Le Harve and wasn't even immediately considered for the for the first team.

Where as Grey is a squad player for the EPL Champions.

Don't take a genius does it.

Clearly not, I said it.

It's astonishing after what we have done over the last few years people still assume you have to spend money to buy quality. It really is.

Which is why we've broken our record signing twice this off-season and brought in an untried polish league player for £7.5m. Perhaps update yourself to 2016/17.

We're not taking punts on players to fight relegation/play in the championship, we're buying players to contend for the Prem and play in the CL completely different circumstances.

You could replace Jeff by scouting the local athletics club 100 metre final.

The hate is strong in this one.

Oh your older then me?!

Really?

Wise old Billy big bollocks

I remember Zaolt Laczko being better than all the players you mention when he first came! Didn't turn out to be a Marhez though did he Billy?

It don't mean shit.

So you failed to answer the point completely. Not a surprise when you have no argument.

If true, I'm very surprised he's been told he can leave should he want to. In terms of his attacking ability, he's important to keep. His pace is direct & it's good to have a player in the squad who has that. If it's a case of game time, I can understand that to a degree, but it's not like he doesn't play here - he has started games and comes on in games with an impact that is needed sometimes. Not to mention he will be needed more for next season anyway with the amount of competitions we're in.

At the age of 23, he's still got years and years of development ahead of him and I just think it'd be disappointing to see him move now. With the quality of coaching here, it's the best place for him to be IMO. Valuable squad member.

Anyone saying he can go and is well down the pecking order is an ostrich.

Jeff covers 3 positions left back, left wing and striker. Yes he probably won't start too many but someone with blistering pace and with such versatility is a huge asset to us.

If he wasn't dropped on his head as a baby he would be the new Pele by now

Were you there when he was a baby then?

you see how easy it is to post like you do?

At the moment it looks like it will be Mahrez on the right and either Albrighton or Musa on the left, After that we have two very highly rated youngsters in Gray and Kapustka.

Just like the Ulloa situation both Schlupp and Ulloa may soon find themselves last choice in their position and if we bring in another forward before the window they could both be 5th choice. When there is £25m on the table for two players who may not even make the bench then you have to take that and move on. If we could get Gabigol for the price of Ulloa and Schlupp then that is fantastic business.

For me everyone is a potential sale apart from our very most key players and our young future star players. I'm quite happy to sell anyone who is 23+ and not one of our top half dozen players and bring in an improvement.

I don't think there's enough evidence for that yet. We know he can play there but he's more likely a replacement for Okazaki.

I think we have long given up on him as a striker now and at left back he's a joke. I knew as soon as he came on there Sunday we would concede from a cross from the right.

We know Musa is an option but even without him we still have Mahrez and Albrighton to play and Gray and Kapustka as reserves. It may be favorable to sell Schlupp to give Gray and Kapustka more playing time. We already know that they are more than just good prospects, Gray has looked fantastic since he came here and Kapustka plays for Poland. It's important that they get relevant game time to aid their progression.

Overly big squads means some players never get a chance.
