Disagree with that.

The fact 'he can play' left wing, left back and up top shows he has quite a bit of general football understanding we don't give him credit for.

I said our pace is overrated against the top side....not those in our average league.

I'd argue the fact he can't nail down a place in any of those positions shows a lack of understanding.

Pace is the one thing you can't teach and is the one thing defenders hate most and that causes problems.

He's our only strong, powerful option down the left side of midfield. I'd be astounded if we let him go. 5 wide players in the whole squad is not a lot! Every other side competing on 4 fronts has so many options. We will need everyone in that squad currently. Cannot see any reason to let him go unless he requests to leave

Have you got his figures for the second half of the season? Not sure i remember him contributing a lot to be honest.

His place in the side only existed because we were flying, his performances, imo, were average compared to the rest of the XI, barring Okazaki (Who i really rate btw, see Villa Away).

Had a quick look...  All I could find was this...

but, I suspect I'm not sharing something we didn't already know?

its not a bad return... But, the fact remains that IMO (we all have them!!!), as well as being solid defensively, he clearly looked to create a lot of chances with his ability to get early crosses in... I'm not suggesting that you considered him to be a passenger, but, much like Okasaki, maybe his contribution wasn't as obvious as the more heralded members of the team?

i like him... And would pick him to start Saturday... I suspect Ranieri feels the same way?

Any reason why you're picking the second half of the season, when the whole team found it a little harder to match the first half returns. Schlupp's problem is his end product. Always has been.

I like Jeff Schlupp and he is perfect to bring on late to change the tempo of the game but I don't see him starting on a regular basis at Leicester.  We do need him though as home grown for Europe though & would be surprised if we let him go. I'm guessing starting as a regular at West Brom might be a deal breaker for him & he is asking to go.

he looks a really good prospect as a winger and having him means we can cover several positions with just 1 player in a match squad which is always useful

He splits opinion because he can't do the simple things right in football which is always going to baffle people. How can a professional player whose won a league title in the top division be technically as poor as anything in the first 5 tiers of English football. He is that bad at times. But his pace, power and chaos factor he brings shows he can have an impact at the highest level and I value his place in our squad. I think we'd miss him but equally I don't think he can command a regular starting place. Perhaps he's the one not happy to be a impact player and is requesting the chance to leave if that's the case.

Sometimes its it's very hard to keep squad players purely because they want to play more and even though he'd be missed its inevitable. This will be the same for Ulloa and possibly James as eventually they want regular football.

I really don't believe he will go. When reading where it said on Sky that Ranieri has said if you want first team football to look elsewhere I couldn't believe that is what would have been said. Simply, Jeff is a first team player in the sense that majority of the season in was in the first 16. We have more games this season and he will play more and to think he still managed 24 games last year is hardly making him some outcast who is being sent on loan to get pitch time.

in a season when he was injured for a couple of months he played 24 games, he should realise he is a valuable asset for Claudio, he was also starting in key games when Vardy was banned

With the loss of him and RDL, I guess we won't be playing wing backs any time soon!

These two were perfect for this option.

Shame, if true. Never like to lose an academy product, and a good international, at that.

You don't really think this is a fair comparison do you?

Schupp played half of his games at left back. I'm sure if you only counted the games were he was playing on the wing it would be a much fairer comparison.

12 mil? sorry but I'd take that! He can be deadly on his day but 99% of the time he doesn't know what he's doing

I'll miss him for that reason though
