davieG Posted 19 July 2016 Posted 19 July 2016 http://www.skysports.com/football/news/12016/10505971/jamie-vardy-was-most-abused-england-player-online-at-euro-2016-according-to-kick-it-out-study? Hard to understand why he was abused, presume it was arsenal fans and what category of abuse he fits in. England: Estimated instances of discriminatory abuse was 9,881. The most abused English players/manager: Roy Hodgson: 1,869 Jamie Vardy: 1,394 Dele Alli: 1,050 Wayne Rooney: 998 Daniel Sturridge: 853 Types of discrimination The distribution of the messages when broken into the different categories of discrimination reads as follows: Race (28%) Gender (27%) Disability (22%) Sexual Orientation (13%) Age (5%) Antisemitism (3%) Islamophobia (2%) Gender Reassignment (0%)
ramboacdc Posted 19 July 2016 Posted 19 July 2016 but Vardy is a white, young, straight, male........so how the hell do the percentages at the bottom help figure it out?! also "gender reassignment 0%" why add that if it came back 0?!
Carl the Llama Posted 19 July 2016 Posted 19 July 2016 Why is gender reassignment listed if nobody suffered abuse over it? May as well put other arbitrary topics players didn't get abused for like karaoke talent; pet ownership; computer skills; sombrero collection...

Adster Posted 19 July 2016 Posted 19 July 2016 Fail to believe Sterling wasn't the most abused England player at Euro 2016.

davieG Posted 19 July 2016 Author Posted 19 July 2016 As posted above I presume it was a load of Arse fans after he announced he was staying with us.

RobHawk Posted 19 July 2016 Posted 19 July 2016 pretty sure that study is bollocks - there were probably more on this forum for a start!
ajthefox Posted 19 July 2016 Posted 19 July 2016 If 27% of the abuse was gender related, is that basically all the people who called Sterling a little girl?
davieG Posted 19 July 2016 Author Posted 19 July 2016 Apologies for it being crap and two of them but can't seem to delete when editing.

AyewJoking Posted 19 July 2016 Posted 19 July 2016 Harry kane received 0% abuse because no one knew he was playing....
ScouseFox Posted 19 July 2016 Posted 19 July 2016 i alone sent more than 2000 abusive tweets to harry kane so i think it's a lie

And Sterlings obviously a poor mans Trevor Benjamin when it comes to break-dancing. (Presumably there were instances of gender reassignment abuse, but rounded to the nearest whole number it was 0%).
Fox92 Posted 19 July 2016 Posted 19 July 2016 Probably just certain people on this forum during his potential transfer to Arsenal.
Corky Posted 19 July 2016 Posted 19 July 2016 Probably people sending insulting tweets about how being nasty and insulting to others is a disgrace based on the casino incident.

Yes it does and it might partlially explain the dubious poll findings, especially after the attitude from the (mardy) Arse fans. I'm quite puzzled, however that the poll seems to imply that either Vardy or the Japanese bloke in the casino are Jewish or Muslim.

Tielemans63 Posted 20 July 2016 Posted 20 July 2016 I'm genuinely surprised that Hodgson's figures are that low. He's got off very lightly there IMHO.
Foxmeister Posted 20 July 2016 Posted 20 July 2016 I do believe the prize T1T who abused Rebekah Vardy was at the Oxford game last night.
NewEnglandFox Posted 20 July 2016 Posted 20 July 2016 What category was accusing someone of being a white supremacist fall under?
