MikeyT Posted 22 July 2016 Posted 22 July 2016 Rob Tanner @RobTannerMerc 58s58 seconds ago Spoke to Steve Walsh this morning. Said he loved his time at #LCFC and said the recruitment dept was in great shape to carry on without him.
Sionnach gorm Posted 22 July 2016 Posted 22 July 2016 I am disappointed in his departure, but in all honesty I trust Claudio's judgement in rebuilding a team. He's always been good at it, historically. Good luck to Walsh and thanks for the memories.
lcfc81 Posted 22 July 2016 Posted 22 July 2016 Out of interest, who did hull city recruit whilst he went there? Robbie Brady? can't think of any amazing talents? Will take ale time to get into place what was built at lcfc I imagine.
Dan Posted 22 July 2016 Posted 22 July 2016 Cameron Stewart The one that sticks in my head is Robert Koren. Would have to look up the others. Nothing anywhere near as notable as here though. Gutted he's gone but I can understand it more than I can Kante.

Seems like Claudio is going solo on some business, reading between the lines on the Kapustka thread, he approached his manager and him from what I can make out.....
katieakita Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 And breath as life goes on, no particular dig at Walsh or his leaving but it is funny how some on here went into meltdown with his departure to mighty Everton. Wonder if they are in meltdown up on Merseyside, strong rumours of their main defender and star striker going and they do seem to be struggling to bring in players despite a new billionaire owner who was going to spend obscene amounts on star players and had the guy from Stoke turn them down. Funny how the press has really built them up yet there is little to really point to being positive for them. Their performances at the end of the season at the KP and being turned over shamefully by Sunderland suggests they will be closure to the bottom than the top. They also released some older bigger names whose savings on wages would surely cover the cost for a high profile DOF. Not a dig at Everton but it is funny how the press paint one picture for them and another picture for us.

AKCJ Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 Ashley Williams instantly sorts out their defence and probably makes Stones/Funes Mori a better player at the same time. It's a pretty smart signing to be fair. Probably disappointing for their fans right now, but I'm sure he'll do reasonably well there.
Ric Flair Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 Williams is good in the right set up. It might take a bit of work to get him to the level he's capable of but considering how bad Everton were at the back last year it's a good signing. Looking forward to Mahrez and Vardy tearing him to pieces again though. He's heinous against us.

Do what manure did with keane and Rooney down the years , pay the ransom fee and keep the player like we did with Vardy to some extent

Catch 22 an all that.

Yes & no Koeman wouldn't have left S'ton & Walsh us, if they weren't working on a bigger plan that would almost certainly take longer than a couple of weeks
Matt Posted 4 September 2016 Posted 4 September 2016 Never liked the mirror or believed the mirror a lot in the past, worst paper out there, worse than the sun but: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/everton-chief-farhad-moshiri-questions-8762936 Questions are obviously being asked of the Merseyside club’s much heralded £1.2million director of football, Steve Walsh, as he could not force some of the deals over the line.
