Will Paul Mitchell still be coming? From what has been posted on here recently, it doesn't sound like we should maintain our interest.

What's been said?

That's just that spurs fan who is probably on the wind up though?

ps. I thought they got rid of 'page 3'

We already recruited someone so there isn't a role for him anyway

No... It's my Dad who's an avid Leicester fan and sits next to me in SK4 :scarf:

100% get him in.

I have full faith in Shakey being able to be a success here long-term, but the only niggling doubt I have is how well he'd be at identifying the right players to bring in. Mitchell would be a perfect fit.

Southampton and to some extent Tottenham have had to rebuild after having their best players taken - something we were utterly shite at doing last summer. Get the feeling there will be a push for a new recruitment chief after Macia wasted so much money last summer.

Macia signed in September so we can't blame him. If he gave us Ndidi then I would say he has made a good start.

Officially released. Do we still have Macia? Room for one more? Would  make the summer pretty exciting.

Macia will be on his way soon - he was very much one of Claudio's men.  Mitchell could come in when he goes, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has other offers.

A lot of talk about him to Rangers as Director of Football.... A promotion we sadly can't offer him at present.

He's also been allowed to leave before notice period is up which means he's signed something already.

He wasn't a Claudio man as he would have come with Ranieri and he didn't.

I can't see Macia giving up his job just because Ranieri might employ him.

I wouldn't mind Mitchell coming in to work alongside Macia, you can't have enough top quality scouting people at a club, quality scouting and success go hand in hand. For what it costs to hire these people is buttons compared to the millions that have been flushed down the toilet this summer.

We've reached a really high expectation in terms of recruitment in the past 5-6 years. To be honest, it began when we got relegated to league 1- We signed the perfect players to get us back up (BNP rants aside) and moved well from there. Even Kermorgant was had a few decent games, despite making one of the worst decisions possible from 6 yards out. Point being, we've not really signed passengers in recent years and we've always sought good replacements when our players go. Which is why last summer was peculiar. I can't comment on who was responsible for the summer signings, probably Rudkin more so than Walsh, but none of them have really come to much use in the grand scheme of things. As for January, we may have signed Ndidi which looks to be a great find, but Wague? We've got an injured centre back on loan when we were crying out for a defenders to step in and help out. All being said, I just hope whoever is in charge of player recruitment this summer has a target list ready and waiting and we act quickly, making decisive signings that help both our coming season and future goals.

Just wondering, I know he has a good rep etc and everyone seems very excited, but is there much justification from people about this or are you all just riding on hype?

I only ask because most Spurs fans on twitter don't seem too fussed, lots of "One good player" comments.... although that might just be because they're moron Spurs fans lol

Is it also based on his success at Southampton? As that just seems engrained in the club to be honest! To the point where the lad who has replaced him is the one who is competing with him for the Rangers job lol I think Les Reed has a lot to do with ongoing recruitment and youth success there too.

It's always a tricky one with these heads of recruitment... they'll have good patches (Mane, Pele, Tadic) and then they'll have bad patches (Wimmer, N'Jie, Janssen, Sissoko)

 Epic fail. lol

It's easier to get your facts right first, than dig your way out of a hole. Tbf, I've done it myself a fair few times on here, as have most on FT, apart from Col, obvs.
