But I do find it bewildering that folk do leave early from a game of football to "miss the traffic" Would you leave the flicks 10 minutes before the end for the same reason? Leaving at the end of a film holding a few hundred people would have no influence on traffic. Leaving those few minutes later at a football match holding 32000 people can add another 45-60 minutes onto the journey. Not really that bewildering.
urban.spaceman Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 Never understood it, don't think I ever will. Only 2 times I've ever left early is when we lost to Leeds in the cup at Filbert Street 6-0 (Garry Parker's one and only game in charge) and losing 5-0 to Villa at the Walkers; and they were only because I was with my dad and he was my lift home. Back when I had a season ticket I would see the same people every week turn up 15 mins late, bugger off for a smoke 5 mins before half time, come back 5 mins after the restart, then leave 5 minutes before the final whistle. Honestly, after 20-odd years, I remain utterly baffled. Someone brought up the cinema analogy - I regularly see people do the same thing. Particularly amazes me when they go to the loo - quite often they miss the best bit (one film some guy went to the toilet and came back 5 minutes later, when the end credits were rolling)
crazyleicester Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 If anyone dares to move their butt cheeks off the seat before the game has ended they should be shot on the spot after an initial electric shock to make sure they cant run away. Who do these people who pay for their own tickets and have to plan their nights think they are FFS? Our side could have capitulated with 3 mins to go and leading 3-0 and it would have been all their fault.
TJB-fox Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Can't personally agree with it as always stay right to the end to support my team no matter what the score, however I fully understand people's reasons for leaving early. Never really bothered me bar Brighton at home in the title winning season when people were leaving early being abusive like a week after we'd pissed the league. Really wound me up that did
Nick Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 I'm a toucherist, I just get off on brushing past people, row after row. Sod football, it's all about the rubbing up and I'm coming for you next. All of you.
WesMorganGod Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 We had total possession at the end so the fans knew Burnley strikers wouldn't attack hence we would see less of Morgan, so they just got bored and left.
inckley fox Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 I've only ever left early once, which was a Boxing Day (I think) game against Watford about 20-25 years ago when Gavin Ward was having a stinker. We scored an equaliser while I was on my way out, which served me right. I met one of our then-players shortly after in quite weird circumstances. I mentioned that I'd left that particular game early. He explained to me why he thought this to be disrespectful. I understood why that was - much like you wouldn't walk out during a play, or a show or a stand-up routine - and appreciated that it must also annoy people around me. That was the last time I did it. I can't say it bothers me personally (players are paid well enough etc. etc.) - but why would I want to potentially upset the people I'd paid to see, or those around me? I know a football stadium and a theatre are worlds apart in all sorts of ways, but if I can avoid causing people offence then, generally speaking, I prefer to. And if the individual I spoke to back in 1994/5, who in truth did very little for Leicester in his time there, was worthy of that respect, then our current bunch are definitely deserving.

I hate the whole row having to get up and having views blocked for a few selfish people going to halftime or full time early. Bang on those who have a seat near the aisles have a restricted view when this all occurs. What's worst is when in the final minutes people leaving, something happens on the pitch and people just stop walking down the steps.

Swan Lesta .... you need therapy! ..... but I'm sure some folks do actually get off on the whole disturbing the settled punters sat watching the game thing!!!!
Monk Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 As others have said - each to their own, but I was genuinely shocked by the numbers leaving before the end of the game yesterday. Huge areas of empty seats, thought it was a poor show from our fans. I think the pace pace of the game yesterday at times felt a bit slow and that may have bored some people... other than that I don't know.

Voll Blau Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Sounds like a few need to learn how to plan their Saturdays better.
stripeyfox Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Many years ago I would not have even dreamed of leaving early, but circumstances change and now I go with my kids and very often the wife has to work on Saturday night so leaving 5 minutes early gets me home half an hour earlier. I try to make as little fuss as possible so as not to disturb anyone when we leave, and don't hang around the gangways.
Free Falling Foxes Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 What annoys me about those who leave early, is when they stop as they head towards the concourses because something happens on the pitch and then block your view. You have chosen to leave, I haven't, so **** off!
ARTY_FOX Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 It really pissess me off when people leave early then just stand on the steps in front of you so you can't see what's going on. If you want to leave early then just leave
Munshi Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Lot of touchy fvckers on here. If some people can't for whatever reason stay till the final whistle and clap the players off after a 10/10 performance nearly every single home game then ultimately that is their own loss. personally, I enjoy clapping the players off considering we haven't lost a home game in a year.

Maybe if you weren't so lazy and drove you could watch the whole match Joking aside that is a fully understandable, what is your Leicester connection Glasgow? I truly am impressed with that dedication!

Richard Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 I'm guessing most that can't understand why people leave early must live in Leicester? E.g. for the arsenal game, took me 45 minutes to get to Leicester, 2 hours to get home because of the traffic. I can definitely understand why people leave on 89 or watch the last couple minutes on the steps
Craig Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Can't say it annoys me. I always find it quite amusing when someone misses a goal.

Then gets told they actually won 2-0 with 2 late goals https://audioboom.com/boos/1225366-ever-left-a-game-early-and-missed-the-best-bit
Ted Maul Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 I can understand that some people need to leave early, that's not an issue. It's the people that get up to leave and walk at a snail's pace, still watching the game, blocking other people's view who do my head in. Stay at your seat or f**k off, there's no middle ground.
Winsum Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Yes it is bad that fans are streaming out ten minutes before the final whistle, in that when The game finishes are the ground is barely two thirds full. See the game out , it only lasts ninety minutes
shade Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 I never leave more than 89 minutes before the end of the game, on principle.
