Nigel Pearson suspended by Derby

I heard this evening, via someone that works for gillingham, that NP called the players in on the Sunday following his final match. Told them to be in for 10am, and he himself arrived at 11. He then left left them in the changing room for 5 mins, only to return at 2pm and tell them that as they'd ****ed up his weekend he was gonna **** up there's. The he told them all to **** off! Just something I heard tonight, but if true he'd lost the plot....again.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me, I do that to the Mrs when she doesn't brew my tea right.

The most bizarre thing about all this is that someone started a new topic on this yesterday, over a week after this all it all started, in the LCFC forum, saying how amazed they were that no one was talking about this, was informed that that there was already a topic in the General Football forum and had their thread closed, but subsequently doesn't get involved in the original topic.

I'd do that as well if they'd just lost at home to Blackburn.

Still a great manager and I will be forever thankful for what he did for the club but his general attitude at present seems very hostile, I am sure there will be clubs wanting him but he will have to take al long hard look at himself and be less confrontational

We know absolutely nothing about what happened, its all speculation and conjecture.

The only thing we know for certain is that Derby have a chairman who goes through managers like Taylor Swift does boyfriends.

Pearson will need to be very careful with his next job or else he could be out of football management. Although he was apart of our great escape his questionable behaviour and phantom sacking will already be lingering over him still - this short stint at Derby can hurt his reputation wether he is right or wrong in whatever the issue seems to be.

If Southgate gets the senior job then I'd like to see Pearson working with under 21's for a while, relaxed job in terms of day to day management and no threat of club owners falling outs.

Chris Powell seems to be the fav, which I have no problem with, former player and a great bloke, the way he handled it all after what happened was great as well. Hope Morris gives him time, and with him being a former fan fav I hope he treats him well as well, because another falling out like that with Powell and the fans might not be so forgiving.

Pearson would be a good fit for Coventry, a club that seems to give their managers time (Mowbrey resigned I believe and was given time), he's do ok there, a project he can get his teeth into without much pressure at all.

There's absolutely no way Pearson is going to Coventry lol he would have been on a million a year at Derby. Cov will pay £250k a year maximum I imagine. He's a multi millionaire.

I suspect there'll be a clause in his termination settlement stopping him from taking a job straight away.

Pearson is done in my opinion as a manager. Especially if Powell stays at Derby. Who would his assistant be next? He would have to take a hefty pay cut in his next job and I just can't see him bothering with the Stress. Multi millionaire he doesn't need it. Cov pay there managers 100k a year for example. Most championship managers earn probably £250k a year. Only the rich owners will pay big money and he isn't getting one of those clubs

Even though that sounds hilarious there is clearly something wrong with the blokes wiring. I cannot wait to read his book if he ever chooses to release one.

I recall many on this forum metaphorically congratulating Pearson for doing some of what he did. Eg. The strange wrestling match on the touchline and the shouting at the fan to f off and die. I won't bother going back but I'm pretty sure I read many posts along the lines of 'go on Nige...' etc.

I said at the time it was nonsense. Both to do what he did and to applaud it. I completely stick with what I said. However well Pearson did with us, he comes across in some ways as a cock.

Yeah, he did act in an odd and idiotic way at times but frankly, given the complete drones and clowns who preceded him I didn't care. He won half his games, he dragged us up two levels and made me enjoy football again after years of hideous shite followed up by "the lads are working hard", "we'll redouble efforts", "the league is tough" or "chill and have a sandwich". Ranieri has combined being an affable man with great results but maybe Pearson's methods actually got the team moving instead of the nice men before him?

He needs a job in League One where he can walk in and rebuild like he did here. Just start again and rebuild. That said, there's plenty of "eccentric" (shall we say) managers  who keep getting job after job - look at Warnock.

No way should Pearson join Villa though because it's the same situation as Derby.

Don’t know but I bet a few wouldn't rule him out as England boss, with Craig Shakespeare returning. May not be crazy as it sounds.

You are right it isn't as crazy as it sounds; it is crazier.

I agree with this. Villa are a basket case club as well, they paid 12m for a 30 year old who's never played above this level (championship) ffs, their just like us in that they are demanding instant success.

Pearson might not want the trouble, but if he does want to get back into football then Coventry would be ideal, maybe Sheff United or a club like Preston would be great as well.

Sheffield United are doing well. Their manager wont be going anywhere.

Maybe its more realistic to become someones assistant again. A good cop bad cop setup at a club.

I dont believe he actually did what he did in the Derby dressing room thats ridiculous to be honest. I hope anyway.

Pearson as England manager. Can't see him being the media darling the FA usually go for...

Itll be Howe at some point.

I wouldn't call capello a media darling.

The FA want someone who won't make a twat of themselves or embarrass the FA, I don't think that's unreasonable.

I know you're going to mention Big Sam but that was entrapment and he didn't really do anything wrong.

I still can't decide whether strangling McCarthur or telling the fan to **** off and die is more heroic tbh. What a man.
