Yeah agreed actually we did give that tournament a good go.

Which bemuses me when people say "oh we need an English manager". Last time we looked good in a major tournament, and that was a World Cup, we were managed by a foreigner.

I maintain.,we look no different. It'll probably end up about 3/4 nil but I can't see any difference in game plan particularly.

Remember we swept aside all comers in the last qualifying campaign, only to stink the tournament out.

It's the England way.

Last time we were any good (Italia 90) our team had 2 Derby players, 3 Forest players, and one from QPR, Villa and Wolves each, plus a couple of Chelsea players in an era when Chelsea were not a major team.

Only 3 Man U, 3 Liverpool and 1 from Arsenal.

All of which backs up your point.

It's funny how Cleverly stopped getting picked the moment he left Manchester United.

Someone on twitter said if Lingard came through at a mid table PL club he'd be checking his ancestry for any Scottish or Irish roots.

Just be grateful Kane isn't in the team!!!

Just watching the in-game stats on Bet 365..... tell you all you need to know.

Just now, we'd had 76 'dangerous attacks' in the game, as opposed to Malta's 3.

That means we'd been going forward in the opponents half 76 times compared to Malta's 3. And yet we've scored twice..........

Conclusions: an awful lot of possession, getting into the opponents half time and time again...,with amazingly little penetration. Lots of sideways movement, some shots but such little incision.

Great reception for Vardy...shows hes stll appreciated around the UK...

He's loved at Leicester too. Ignore the menstrual bellends  on here who think he should be scoring 3 goals a game.

Asking for Vardy to be dropped for a game or 2 doesn't constitute to hating him or not "appreciating" him as a footballer. Shall bow down to our Lord and Saviour Jamie?

Not really the same as those calling him all manner of things in the Jamie Vardy's book thread.

Yeah he's a **** as a bloke. He's a great player for us though. Lets separate the man from the player.

Why should we separate it?

I didn't see Leicester fans calling him a twat when he was playing well for us.
