lgfualol Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Drinkwater will be off if things don't improve. The sky is the limit for the guy whereas we have 30 year olds on 80k a week.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 We are in for a long hard season unless we start being hard to beat away again and get rid of that hideous red kit

Hammo Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 A word or two of comfort. At least we didn't play like this when IT REALLY MATTERED towards the end of last season. This is not beyond rescue. Mid table in the Prem plus knockout phase of Champions League would still be a tasty dessert after last season's sumptuous feast of a main course.
Number 6 Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 13 goals conceded in 4 away games and of the 3 goals scored for us 1 was a falsely given penalty, 1 was a wonder strike and 1 was a gift. Very worrying indeed.
Babylon Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 1 hour ago, Bob Weasel Fox said: Yes probably about right however something needs to change to make us hard to beat again new formation or transfers in Jan If we only want to play lead the line strikers and attacking wingers then we'll need to. To play the two in the middle you often need to sacrifice an attacking player somewhere else. We've always had a Nuge and Okazaki, who despite their faults always did the hard yards and linked the midfield and attack. With defences now sitting so deep the strikers both follow them and we end up with a chasm between midfield and attack, whilst also not having the defensive numbers when we lose the ball thanks to just hoofing it 40 yards as there is nobody in the hole.
StriderHiryu Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Need a massive rethink in the way we play. I can accept defeats but we've lost that "never say die" fighting attitude from last year.

Cityfox60 Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Shocking performance again!! Not even one shot on target in an hour & a half! Woeful. Too many players think they're massive stars after one season. Big contracts, international squads, flash cars etc. Four points off relegation places before the 3 o'clocks. Champions League is just a bonus this season, nothing more, we need more effort & desire in the league!!
bovril Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 We've had 3 balls out seasons in a row, so it's kind of to be expected that this one is a damp squib. We'll beat teams below us at home, probably finish about 12th and make the CL knock out stages. A transitional season. Frustrating but not disastrous.

Sort of agree as some of the players we have brought in do not look anything special however it was a bit of a dilemma for LCFC as we are the Champions and I suppose the Management team could have been forgiven for not wanting to upset the apple cart too much and why shouldn't they have thought we could rock on again. We need to prioritise getting another Quality midfield player to assist Drinky that's for sure.
GazzinderFox Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Feels like we just played that game with 10 men on the park. The distance between the strikers and the midfield is scary at times. Also I'm pretty sure that last season the fullbacks were not smacking the ball long every time they get it.
Rialto 290352 Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 In an ideal world a number of the current side would have been retired last season their memories unsullied by the events of this season. Three of the first choice defence have their best days behind them. Without Kante they are being exposed against better sides. The midfield also needs a strong competitive player to support Drinkwater who is being left to do too much now. The service to the forwards was shocking all match. In the first half they could have sat on the bench for all the impact they were able to make. Sadly not only has the loss of Kante weakened the defence but also the attack. Hardly any long accurate passes for the forwards to run onto. Worse the absence of fight and the closing down of opposition forwards. Seems to be a lack of motivation? The second half was an improvement but why did they not show that in the first half??? Strengthening and team rebuilding looks to be a priority.

Did Okazaki play in mid week? I can only assume the travelling was why he wasn't even on the bench. I think he would have improved us today.

That is the reality. too many players on 110K ..120+K after last season's fluke lesser players like Ulloa & Okazaki probably didn;t get much team dynamics + psychology changed for the worst. Ranieri has gotta do something about the mental side of things besides the menu - free pizza. there 's no free pizza as there won't be clean sheets

Fox92 Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Awful. Embarrassing. Too many players not good enough. No fight, no commitment, no drive. Drinkwater only one who looked good again.
Fox92 Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 We were to loyal to players aren't good enough and we have certain players on too much money. One player this season is worth 100k a week and that's Drinkwater.

We won the ****ing league playing it will people ever realise that? If Gueye or Caravalho or Silva were bought and we could actually rotate the defence then 442 would probably still work. Of course Kante is a loss but Okazaki played pretty much every week and was a vital cog in our 442 too.
Marky mark Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Piss poor Dosent do this justice hate to agree with the **** souness but ...... i do minds on other jobs
Eskay Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Not sure why everyone is raving about drinkwater....played tidy passing it sideways and backwards at every chance sure.....didn't penetrate the Chelsea defence at any point. Carries zero goal threat and plenty of wayward passes too. Today tells you why he isn't ready for England yet. 2 big take aways for me today. 1 - we have totally stopped challenging in the air. Kante, pedro and moses all out jumping our players. We seem to gamble on the other player fluffing the header and instead stand behind. 2 - sick and tired of watching Albrighton. Its either a waist high cross or that awful ball down the channel that everyone has sussed out now. He must be the only winger in the top two divisions that doesn't even attempt to take a defender on. Not sure why Vardy is getting so much stick....he was totally isolated today.
