jmono84 Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 I was really excited at the start of the season, not that we were going to challenge for the league again, but because we were still building and I thought we were gonna go to the next level! then after the summer transfer coming and goings and the dog poo performances pretty much every game I'm worried that we may have missed our opportunity. Even I, who's had a season ticket pretty much most of my life is starting to feel like I can't be assed to watch them (but I always will do because you've gotta take the good with the bad). its weird but it takes me back to the days when we were losing 1-0 at home to Burnley or I think tranmere on a midweek night in the championship... im hoping CR can sort this coz at the moment he is looking and sounding clueless
Fox92 Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Schlupp is shit. I'll drive him to West Brom now.

Huth had a decent game. Do these c***ts even watch the game. Huth had a nightmare. The way he was pulled out of position for the 3rd is the sort of thing you see on a sunday league game. He's not been anything like he was and I personally think we need two new centre halves, quickly.
Max Power Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Yeah I've always been a non ironic Schlupp fan but he's been hopeless this season. Not only has he been bad but he's still impeding the progress of two bright young players in Gray and Kapustka
UPinCarolina Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 I said it in the game thread, but I think that was Schlupp's last starting nod, perhaps last first half appearance for LCFC.
Guest Col city fan Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 I've always defended Schlupp. Today, he was indefensible. Babylon, take note.....
Foxy harry Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 We will not be near the bottom. Yes we have lost every away game and if we played relegation candidates and got the same scores i wouldbeb very worried. But we need to remember this is livepool man united and chelsea away from home. Im not defending the performances but aslong as we beat the teams like burnleys and swanseas then im confident we will be around 10th spot. We wont be the only team who struggles away at the big teams and i think we have had the worst away games possible at the start.

Let's hope so - his performance today was pathetic. Although unfortunately, it didn't get much better with him getting substituted. The team can't just turn up for 15 mins & expect to get a positive result.
CloudFox Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 I really like Schlupp, but he does deserve some of the criticism he is receiving here. There was one moment in particular where we were moving forward quickly in the second half with some nice passing interplay...it gets to Schlupp on the left hand corner of the box... ...and he stands still with it. Such a waste.

HankMarvin Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 There is a conspiracy at Leicester City! Well that's according to boss Claudio Ranieri, who revealed Japanese forward Shinji Okazaki "swaps places" with his brother whenever he flies home. In it Ranieri makes a startling revelation. He says: "Everytime he comes back from a long journey, he is not Okazaki. He is his brother." The answer gets a laugh out of the room of journalists, but we're not convinced he's joking... no seriously... He goes on, insisting that the striker is not injured. And adds: "He's not Shinji, he's another player and every match I have to put somebody on the stand - only for this reason."

HankMarvin Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 I backed Schlupp till today, but its like he had brain freeze and waited standing still when he got the ball, but 10 out of 11 looked shit so hard to judge
Legend_in_blue Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 The performance was completely unacceptable. Just rolling out for CL games is not good enough.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Basically we did better when we had Gary Taylor Fletcher playing centre midfield.
Riot Van Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Would rather have had the dead king of thailand on the left than schlupp.

Why are people shocked he did same again today? And annoyingly Chelsea seem to be using him properly now. He was superb today...the bastard.
UPinCarolina Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 It also needs to be said that we are really missing Okazaki.
Dan Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Yet again, our defence was abysmal. I've stated why I think that on a number of occasions, you take out a shield like Kante and you're always going to be weaker for it. All of our defenders are limited. With the exception of Fuchs and possibly Hernandez, there is a real lack of footballing ability there. They're old school, and while I think there's a place for that in the game still, you can't get away with it without protection. More is being asked of them this season without Kante there and it is showing big time. They are being pulled all over the place and I cannot see how this is going to change without a different system. The lack of application is a disgrace. You can defend it and put it down to natural reaction all you want but you're the mug if you do, really. We're paying wages to some of these players like we've never paid before, and we're not getting anywhere near the desire. We are completely unrecognisable. We are the antithesis of last season - we are exposing our own limitations, and it's horrible to watch. A lot of them deserve dropping but quite honestly we haven't got the squad to be able to. Certain players were terrible. Once again Drinkwater stands out as being about the only one who wasn't anywhere from poor to dreadful. I thought the defence were all poor, the full-backs dodgy, the centre halves almost embarrassing. Amartey was a passenger as he is away from home, Albrighton tried but to little avail, Vardy was completely anonymous, Musa was useless and where on earth do you even start with Schlupp. It makes a complete mockery out of the money we turned down for him. You can't even put today down to being inconsistent, funny Jeff. It was clueless, unambitious, disinterested, "how on earth is he above a talent like Demarai Gray and a Poland international Kapustka" Jeff. It'd be a long time before I considered him for selection again. He was horrific. They have credit in the bank, but we've got to wake up. We aren't a top club who can afford to rest on our laurels. We do have limitations in that team, and taking the foot off the gas is inviting trouble, because lets be honest here - we've been awful more often than not this season. We have played 84 games since we have been back up from the Championship, and in my opinion, our four away games this season rank at 81, 82, 83 and 84 in order of how good the performance was. You cannot dress that up as anything other than worrying. No calls for the manager to go, as quite honestly I don't think I've got it in me to call for the manager who delivered the unthinkable here to lose his job, but he's better than this and it's about time he showed it. That line-up today was just terrible and it was almost like not a thing had been learnt from the last two away games. If we go with a similar natured side in terms of application and balance in a couple of weeks at a fired up Spurs, make no mistake, we are going to be on the end of a result people will talk about for years. I can take losing at Anfield. I can take losing at Old Trafford. I can take losing at Stamford Bridge. I can't take getting slaughtered at all three in a way someone like Villa would.

Agree about needing new CBs. Maybe Benalouane will save us after all..

Winchesterfox Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 I didn't think Huth was close to retirement untii I saw him modelling the new Chelsea pensioner kit.
