Chelsea 3 Leicester 0. Post match thread.

I mean, I sort of expected us to lose at Stamford Bridge.

What brings me down more than anything is the choice of personnel in the starting XI by Ranieri, the lack of effort from multiple individuals (Morgan off pace, Fuchs not overly bothered, Schlupp lacking impact and desire, Albrighton's shit crossing, midfielders not providing our strikers with any service, Vardy and Musa not really touching a ball at all, cumbersome in their approach and putting it wide) and the lack of suitable back-up on the bench and the lack of adequate signings last summer. Other teams don't hesitate fielding their strongest XI with their star players on a regular basis, even with European football involved. So why can't we? Or why won't we?

Plus, this whole rotation thing with regards to the Champions League will bite us on our arse if it continues any longer. My question is: Where's our focus? On the league? On the Champions League? Mentally, we seem to be all over the place in the Premier League lately.

We didn't lose by more than two goals under Pearson despite being foot of the table, playing 4-4-2, with defenders like Moore, Konch, De Laet. James and King playing regularly in CM, nugent up front etc.

We've now been mullered and lost by 3/4 goals three times in eight games is it. The issue isn't 4-4-2, or one particular player. It's how we're going about playing it.

Spot on.

Attitudes and bad player selection are the problem. Claudio needs to choose players who are highly motivated.

Drinkwater and Schmeichel look like the only ones who want to push on and win more.

Also needs to put ****ing Simpson at right back and drop a centre back if he is so convinced Hernandez is a step up on our current centre backs rather than just trying to force him into the team.

Some players are living off the credit they got last season.

Thought Drinkwater was far too good for the rest on that showing and he will be in great demand elsewhere. Hernandez and Albrighton were also not bad. Schlupp was abysmal and Musa worse, Vardy we'll reserve judgement as he couldn't do much with what he had. Okazaki had a stormer by showing what we miss when he's not involved, someone to link up the play and get stuck in. Amartey as someone else said needs to be eased in more gently, there's a player there but not one of two in centre midfield at the moment. And what's happened to Huthwaite and Morgan?

I think we'll have enough against worse sides to not be in a relegation battle, but there's a lot to fix.

Drinkwater the only positive AGAIN.

Not sure what Gray's done to upset Claudio and if Schlupp's lifeless body ends up being found in the boot of a car somewhere then I can't say I won't have had anything to do with it.

The majority of those players should hang their heads in shame for the lack of effort they've put into several of our matches this season, today included.

Are people going to now accept our defence needs an overhaul? Something I have said for a long time; even on the Radio as some of you know. SoAs:(

No matter what though, my loyalty to Claudio as our manager is unflinching and I feel for the poor man...the lads keep letting him down.

I don't know even where to begin. I get we're Leicester, last year was a one-off and we've had a horrible run of games, but we are seriously in trouble if this shit carries on much longer. Claudio, start getting those head butts in son.

With performances like we keep seeing, I honestly wouldn't give some of them the honour of playing in the CL.

We quit.....CR hasn't a fcucking clue how to tinker in a positive manner, feeling rather sad at the moment, but we are still champions for a while....

First half was so bad in ability and desire we made Chelsea look like Barcelona. Second half was an improvement but no shots on target all match was woeful. Vardy is getting peed off with lack of service I can understand that but what has happened to him he used to chase down every ball didn't happen today at all. Four losses from 8 games is shite and maybe Chelsea supporters had a point today Champions of England you're havin a larf.

4 games away from home and 13 goals conceded ( I wonder incidentally if there is a worse record across all four divisions?...That's one for you to open your stats book for) and it STILL isn't about 442?

Well you're stubborn..I'll give you that.

We played 4-4-2 first season and never got mullered this badly and scored more to boot. We played Chelsea in our second game back with Hammond and King in the middle of a 4-4-2 and put up a far better showing than this.

I have already been through all this and provides positioning comparisons against last season and this. We aren't playing it the same way we were.

We've proven you can play 442 without Kante and put up a better fist of things. Win the league, no. But not get mullered and over-run every week.

Hernandez will get his chance again with Morgan when Huth is suspended which can't be far away !

picked it up first 15 second half but once we didn't score and they went even more personnel in the middle v our 2 it was completely game over.

The way the away games have fallen is skewing the season - just as the fixtures fell well last autum, they have fallen badly this.

By the time we get to game 10, we will have played all the big clubs apart from citeh and most away from home.

Win on Tuesday and we can prioritise the league over the CL (although I wonder how financially rewarding a win in the CL is over a position or two in the PL).

we seem to have a fairly scientific approach to everything and our approach thus far (mentally) may well be deliberate although it's no fun for us to have to watch

It went pretty much as I expected.   I'm more concerned about beating teams around us.  As much as I would like another season like last, it wasn't ever going to happen.

I'd be pretty happy with a run in the CL and to stay up.  I think it's time for some to refocus and get back to reality.

Unfortunately when you are paying players £100k a week and signing players for £30m, staying up isn't good enough and won't be good enough for the owners. That is the reality.

It appears to me that some players have an attitude problem.  Last season we had a team that pretty much picked itself every week, players played at the top of their game for decent periods and we achieved the ultimate.

Now that we have done that it doesn't mean that there is nothing left of importance in the league or that we are so great that we only have to turn up to do it again.  At Hull we looked awful and league matches haven't got a lot better since.

We've had a couple of good results in the Champions League.  We've invested in players that should be able to enhance the quality of the squad.  But all this means nothing if they don't go out with the right attitude.

As yet we're not in a crisis but if the confidence goes we could be.

We've missed the boat with our transfer dealings completely, we're now left with the difficult task of trying to persuade good players to join a struggling team, the summer was such a great opportunity for the club and it's looking like we really have messed things up, we're left with an aging rocky defence and a midfield woefully short on numbers and quality (excluding Drinky) these opportunities come once in a lifetime for a club like us we should of grabbed our chance when we had it.

Yes probably about right

however something needs to change to make us hard to beat again

What hes saying (it's quite simple) is that we played 442 last year and defended well, it might not necessarily be the formation but the mind set, the application, concentration, desire and ability.

Right now I hope that final stat does say 10th at the end of the season... eerily similar, with Mahrez looking about as effective as hazard last season
