Oxfordfox83 Posted 24 October 2016 Posted 24 October 2016 Unbelievably, there's a Leicester player in the Top 30 players in the world. Let's see Riyad stick it to Messi...
Fox 4 Life Posted 24 October 2016 Posted 24 October 2016 Vardy should have been for breaking the prem league scoring record. Mahrez well deserved though.
Jon the Hat Posted 24 October 2016 Posted 24 October 2016 Well deserved!! They havent announced them all yet, Vardy could still be in there!

st albans fox Posted 24 October 2016 Posted 24 October 2016 If he has a good three games in the remainder of the CL and scores a couple more (plus satisfactory prem performances with the odd wow) then he could even make 3rd - seriously!
Wymsey Posted 24 October 2016 Posted 24 October 2016 Good. This should spur him on furthermore. Thanks Steve Walsh.
VLC86 Posted 24 October 2016 Posted 24 October 2016 A Ballon D'Or nomination and they haven't even covered the letter S yet....

There's no way he's finishing above Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez and Neymar.
TheSomersetFox Posted 24 October 2016 Posted 24 October 2016 Brilliant stuff, congrats to Riyad. Massively deserved
Fox 4 Life Posted 24 October 2016 Posted 24 October 2016 Sure Claudio will be up for world coach award, if not the winner!

You think the coaches voting each year enjoy putting the same names down? They are desperate for a new option. Tbh, his current form makes it unlikely that he can do enough this autumn to get enough votes but if he could keep up his high profile in the CL and make some 'wow' moments in the PL then you never know
foxy boxing Posted 24 October 2016 Posted 24 October 2016 unbelievable just having a Leicester city player nominated, Mahrez is the undoubted star of the team and the premier league, no doubt it will be messi or Ronaldo who will win it. it's become their personal trophy over the years
Koke Posted 24 October 2016 Posted 24 October 2016 From having Elvis Hammond (ankle) boot the ball over the bar from 5 yards to Riyad Mahrez on the Ballon d'Or shortlist in the space of a decade. Is this real life?

Technically, you can break a record with it bouncing off your knee, lucky deflection, ect...it Doesnt make you necceserily a stand out world class player... Not saying vardy isnt a great striker... just not crem de la crem..

Merging Cultures Posted 24 October 2016 Posted 24 October 2016 I think its just fantasy....His form is often easy come, easy go. So I can't see him progressing in this competition.

He was untouchable last year and pretty much all of his goals were quality anyway. No luck there. Ronaldo has never done that and Messi scored in 21 consecutive but back in 2012.
StriderHiryu Posted 24 October 2016 Posted 24 October 2016 Amazing achievement, and warranted! Kante should also have been on the list. Even though he left, you can't deny that he was among the best central midfielders in Europe for long patches last season.
