Vardy and Drinkwater in the England squad

Absolute pointless exercise. Wish we would just tell England to get ****ed and let them get on with picking the same old dross.

Can't see either playing much (any) of the game on Friday vs Scotland. Both could be involved against Spain, don't you get to make 11 subs in friendly games?

Surprised to see Walker in the squad, thought he took a knock earlier. Even if he drops out I can't see Simpson being the back up.

Drinkwater would clearly rather spend the next week on a beach rather than train and sit on the bench with shithouses like Henderson being picked over him.

Henderson has probably been the best English midfielder in the league this year along with lallana.

Tells you everything about the state of the English national team really. He's not a patch on our Danny.

Perhaps the injury to drinky explains his poor game yesterday. Did he start with it? As we have no options I would not be surprised if he did. Or picked it up very early and played on with it.

Or is he only out with injured pride?

My thoughts exactly.

There is club fitness and there is country fitness. I'm going to guess this is one of those cases.

Vardy forgot his shooting boots, left them at the title celebrations back in May... he also lost his desire and will to win at the bottom of his massive wallet

Didn't take long for some people to turn on their own.

Was saying it a bit tongue in cheek... I certainly do hope he does find his form and admittedly he isn't getting much help from a non-existent midfield.

i'm glad drinky isn't playing for England we need him fully focused on the job in hand which is getting the foxes up the table and England have messed him around enough already

So its bruised ribs that caused the withdrawal which is fine by me. Southgate seems a little clueless and I dont understand how he was omitted from his first squad the dipshite.

We need to look after DD as without him we would be in serious trouble. He never seems to get dropped which is great for us but not so good on his body. The rest/recovery will be great for him.

Lets hope Vardy gets a run out and grabs a goal or two to boost his confidence though!

I've really given up on . Nothing of note for 20 years, and the football is beyond turgid.

The continued ineptitude of the FA, and their insistence on playing an out of date style that refuses to use any of the traditional English traits such as pace, power, and physicality, makes the whole escapade utterly un-enjoyable.

I really wish England had just taken 4-5 years off after the Euros.......

Skysports &  BBC...FFS we dont need a coach, let the media pick the team.

The unadulterated arrogance of over hyping the London boys, is quite sickening.

Then they must take bungs to over present, their own favourite  players from the top teams.

We desperately need new talent, Keane for me should be partnering Stones...Yes I know

unexperience at the back, but why not go for it, we've tried the experience route before,

lets do something different. Any grouping of the English squad should beat this Scottish

group of players.Or their own clubs should be asking them why they shouldnt get docked

wages. One way to bring the PL wages down...:P

I'd say neither should be in there, based on form.

I'd disagree on Drinky. He made a mistake, but he's really been the only bright spark this season.... carried us on occasions...
