Kramaric was alright so I imagine someone with 5 national caps already it should be easy to grant access

I read a bit about the new work permit rules earlier and from what I gather Kramaric was one of the last ones to benefit from the old rules, he wouldn't have got a permit with the new rules. I don't think Ndidi's caps are enough to get him an automatic work permit although his age, EL performance, and transfer fee combined should be more than enough for the appeals panel.

Been watching his Genk post match interviews too, he seems like the nicest most positive kid ever with a lovely character.

I'll be more than happy if he is at least as good as Gueye, since I think that was the only thing we could have done differently in summer. Shame AFCON has to happen now so we can't see how he works with the full squad for another month.

I can't tell if you're joking, but if you are, the Nigeria - AFCON jokes aren't funny.

But the fact that Ndidi won't get to train with the entire Leicester squad till Feb due to AFCON still holds true, regardless of which country Ndidi plays for and whether Nigeria qualified or not. As the Algerians will be missing.

I think that's what he meant, that as others will be away so won't meet them for another month, not because he's away as he isn't,

thats how I read it anyway

KRC Genk of Belgium midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has declared that his much-publicised move to English Premier League champions Leicester City is not yet cast in stone as there are still some fine points of the transfer yet to be sorted out between his representatives and Leicester, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Ndidi has been the subject of massive transfer speculations over a proposed £15m move with several outlets claiming a deal has been done.

In an exclusive chat with Complete Sports from his Belgium base, Ndidi revealed that talks were at an advanced stage on the deal and it’s looking more likely that he will make the switch but that will be subject to an agreement of personal terms with the club.

“It’s true I’ve had a medical and everything points to me leaving Genk for Leicester but there are still some issues yet to be properly ironed out so I’m not packing my bags yet. When my manager gives the go ahead then I will say my farewell to the fans and Genk,” the Super Eagles star told Complete Sports.

On what will be his most precious memories of his time at Genk, Ndidi was a bit emotional as he answered that he will miss everything about the club which gave him his big break in Europe two years ago.

He said: “I will miss everything about Genk. The club, the stadium, the fans and the city. They have all become a part of me that I will carry with me everywhere I go for the rest of my career.  I have received nothing but love here and I will forever be grateful for that.”

The Super Eagles midfield enforcer is also upbeat about the influx of Nigerian players into England, reckoning that it will positively rub off on the game at senior level.

“It’s nice to have our players going to England. It will help blending and give us confidence because they’ll be playing against some of the best players in the world every week. It will help our progress in the World Cup qualifiers and other competitions,” the former Flying Eagles defender observed.

Exactly how I feel about it. Hope he proves me wrong but I find it hard to see him making an immediate impact. The Belgian league is weak and the step up to the Prem is a huge one. We need an immediate improvement on our team, not another Kaputska situation.

Trust me, we all had a laugh with Bruges this year. But stating that the Belgian League is 'weak', just because Bruges had a horrible campaign, doesn't make sense to me. It would be the same if I would have made my opinion about West Ham and the PL after seeing them play against Birkikara from Malta... just as an example. Previous year AA Gent qualified for the knock-out phase in the CL, becoming second in a group with Zenith, Lyon and Valencia. This year Genk and Anderlecht dominated their group in the EL and also Gent qualified. I think the list below gives you a clear insight in the 'strenght' of a League. Don't think we're doing that bad... .

There is some vague communication about it, because our board doesn't communicate about it either. But he will sign for Leicester for sure. And like I stated in a previous post, he was our most important player. I think some of those YouTube videos give you a good insight in his qualities: good tackle, strong header, beautiful crosspass and overall good mentality.

Melting down in here as well? lol remember his team mates have tweeted good luck in Leicester, it's a done deal and will probably be announced tomorrow as it's not a bank holiday.

Great place Genk. Had the pleasure of working with colleagues there for 4 years and always enjoyed the visits. Some great bars. I hope Ndidi lives up to expectations for us and wish Genk every success in future.

Only City fans could read an article titled "Leicester Move Almost Sealed" as "maybe he's not coming! :o "

Yeah but arsenal fans buy shirts with players names on, when they haven't even signed them yet so......

So Ndidi is a rather mobile, self-sufficient vacuum cleaner, with tentacle-like legs and an enormous amount of stamina to waste - with people comparing him to Yaya Touré.

Let's hope he can fulfill that promise.

Looking forward to seeing you in a Leicester shirt, Wilfried. Just wonder what it'll do to our central midfield, with either Amartey or King having to make way in order to accommodate you (later on in the season). Even Mendy will need to fight for his place.

I wouldn't be so negative about the Belgian league. Yes, the competition in itself is not the best and it is definitely weaker than the Premier League, but you have to consider the size of the country, the pulling power of the Jupiler League and the money available to clubs. Still, the four bigger teams (Anderlecht, Genk, Gent, Standard Liège) have a great youth setup and with their current roster, can be compared to lower-end Premier League representatives.

Don't know what £15m mean to Genk, but I'm sure it'll pretty much cover their budget plus expenses for this season. :D
