Mendy, actually forgot he existed, has he actually stepped foot on the pitch in the league since he limped off against the Arse?

I am sorry but how is that even an argument lol Genk have sold three good players to Premier League clubs so obviously the fourth one they sell will also be amazing.

Even then the point your making does not stand up to the point he is making, he's concerned that we need a solution in midfield right now (a concern I more than share) not in 2/3/4 years time. De Bruyne played three times in two years for Chelsea after signing, Courtois barely kicked a ball for Chelsea until years after his transfer, Benteke fair props but then even he was approaching 22 when he signed for Villa, much more developed than the other players being discussed.

If they think he can come in and do a job straight away then I'm all for it, but if he does a Kaputska, signs, and then vanishes, or if he plays and is clearly nowhere near ready (assuming we aren't looking at another CM option)  I am going to be extremely disillusioned with the way this club is recruiting at the moment. We can all see the holes in the team, and the biggest is a massive N'Golo Kante shaped one bang in the middle of the field and it needs partially filling at least if we are going to move away from the drop zone, and filling now, not in a couple of seasons time.

Genk have a track record and their fans have even said he's the best they've had since De Bruyne. Don't really see a great deal wrong with it tbh.

I just think each player should be judged on their own rather than saying he will

be a success because they've produced other amazing players.

I don't doubt his potential.

The question is can he come in right now and start making the difference as we are in desperate need of it.

As stated in the post you quoted, if the answer is yes, well done Leicester City, if the answer is no they should get back in the transfer market and get someone who can as we are currently on track to get less than 40 points and survive purely because there are three teams that are an utter disgrace at the moment and any one of them could improve, and worryingly one of them always manages to escape come May.

Not saying AmarteyAndChill has but it dose seem a lot on here have judged Mendy on an injury.

To be fair I doubt we can really judge Mendy until next season now but that said just hope that's in the premier league and with Leicester City still.  :D

No creativity or goals what so ever.

A technically strong/creative CM incoming IMO. Ndidi/Amartey to play the anchor in a 3 man midfield with Drinkwater and a new midfielder/Mendy alongside him.

If we are playing 4-3-3 then at least one of them midfielders must score goals to help out.

Agreed, I was told 3 weeks ago that we'd get a CB and two CM's, hopefully the 2nd CM is a creative 'Sigurdsson/Eriksen' type who can carve open opportunities.

He's not a creative midfielder. This season has shown that.

I think that's being unfair! He is a technically proficient player and a good technician. This season he has had to adapt to the Kante loss and be more of a box-to-box type. Last season he was fabulous as his role was to distribute quickly on the turnover.

Admittedly though he should calm down on the long passing. Teams are wise to us now so we can't just pump it long.
