Not sure why people are saying he isn't United quality though. He was brilliant last season and is better than half of what they've got there at the minute.

Sorry but just how many minutes of PL football has Mendy played? Considering he's only just getting back to fitness after such a long lay off do you not think you're being a tad harsh on him. Slimani is still getting up to pace and hasn't really been given the service he needs. Bit early to be writing anyone off just yet.

It could just be that Ranieri didn't want to risk him. Been out through injury for a couple of weeks and then played 45 and then 90mins may have left Ranieri thinking ahead and didn't want to push him too much too soon and risk longer injury. I'm sure he'll be back next game. Sometimes things can be made into bigger deals than they actually are. Does Mahrez in the same hotel as Chelsea team ring any bells.
