AyewJoking Posted 1 January 2017 Posted 1 January 2017 sorry, cant see a win here. a point would be good even more so if teams below us lose.
MC Prussian Posted 1 January 2017 Posted 1 January 2017 Same formation as yesterday, same players (4-4-1-1). It'd be criminal not to field the team that deserves it after such a great performance and not profit from the boost the West Ham home win gave the team. Let's kickstart the new year in high spirits. Schmeichel Chilwell Morgan Huth Simpson Gray Amartey Drinkwater Albrighton Mahrez Slimani Subs: Zieler, Hernandez, Fuchs, King, Musa, Okazaki, Ulloa

I think in the second half we changed our shape and went more defensive, so we'd use less energy. Maybe Drinkwater wasn't tired, he just didn't need to run around as much in the system we played second half.

LCCFox96 Posted 1 January 2017 Posted 1 January 2017 Some of the recent positivity going forward in the first half vs Everton and against WHU has come from the new introductions of Chilwell and Gray. Don't see any merits on changing that at the moment. I get the idea of putting Fuchs in for Chilwell away from home for experience and solidity but at the same we haven't seen Chilwell look below par against what you could argue is better opposition. We also got a lot of joy from hitting Slimani with whipped crosses, which should feature again. Hopefully unchanged, but I think he could bring in Okazaki for Mahrez.
Fox 4 Life Posted 1 January 2017 Posted 1 January 2017 I hope we smash them just to shut Karanka up, the bellend 'Now is the most important game in the season because it is the next one and it is against a direct opponent,' said Karanka. 'All this season these are the kind of games we have to win. We are playing at home and always I say if we are playing this way we will win games against our opponents like we did against Swansea, against Hull, against Bournemouth. 'We won them and that is the way to keep going. We know if we play with less intensity than we did (against United) we have problems so we need to play with at least the same intensity. 'I'm pleased with the way we competed and we will win games against teams who are playing to stay in the Premier League.' When the sides met in the reverse fixture on November 26, Alvaro Negredo's double put Boro on course for victory until the Foxes grabbed a last-gasp equaliser from the penalty spot. Reflecting on that point at the King Power Stadium, Karanka added: 'We forgot they had won the league, we were much better than them in the game and we keep going and play in the same way. 'We need to analyse Leicester again and their players. They cannot play with Jamie Vardy (suspended) so they will be different to how they were in Leicester. I don't have a lot of time but time enough to prepare.'

Spudulike Posted 1 January 2017 Posted 1 January 2017 Think it's possibly too soon for the Dragon Slayer. He looked knackered yesterday.

He looked knackered yesterday. 3 or 4 looked knackered at the end yesterday but they are professional athletes, and Slimani didn't play the full 90. I think Fuchs will come in for Chilwell, Musa for Gray and maybe one of the CMids will be changed for King or Mendy.
Father Ted Posted 1 January 2017 Posted 1 January 2017 Same team for me, only change I would consider would be King or Okazaki in for Gray or Mahrez, just to slot in a touch deeper behind Slimani and give us that extra man in the middle when on the back foot and to stop their CDM's playing. Other than that, hopefully another performance like yesterday, on the front foot from the start and pressing high up the pitch. Albrighton on the right too, please!
Guest Cujek Posted 1 January 2017 Posted 1 January 2017 Beat these bitches please. Your competition? I don't think so ****.
Strokes Posted 1 January 2017 Posted 1 January 2017 Need to show up and make the first game of 2017 our first away win of the season. These are beatable but we can't sit back in this match.
Clever Fox Posted 1 January 2017 Posted 1 January 2017 This game is winnable provided we're as bold as we were yesterday first half. Normally I'd urge caution away from home but with Albrighton on the right and Gray on the left we looked really good. In that mood we're a match for anyone. Like others I'd go with the same team. If we are thinking Defensive then I'd bring in Fuchs for Gray or Mahrez but then we'ed be losing our attacking threat. And we're better going forward and keeping the opposition far away from our Goal. I fancy a draw but wouldn't be surprised if we snatched it.
brucey Posted 1 January 2017 Posted 1 January 2017 Also not convinced Slim can play again so soon, he sprinted loads vs West Ham. In his first few games for us he could barely manage 90 mins every week. Without Vardy in the picture, we have three 3rd choice strikers, but I don't know if any of them are good enough to lead the line.

dynamark Posted 1 January 2017 Posted 1 January 2017 Fuchs will be in for Chilwell the only change to starting line up if they are all OK..No way we should change any more Expect to see King on as a sub along with Ulloa and Oka for Slim and Mahrez after 60 mins. They only got a result last time because we didn't deal with Negredo.
m4DD0gg Posted 1 January 2017 Posted 1 January 2017 Whilst the new formation is welcome what happens when vardy is back. We won't drop him no matter what.

Was it really a new formation? I guess we will stay 4-4-1-1 through Jan with Okazaki behind vardy and gray for mahrez, king or mendy for amartey (ndidi later in the month perhaps)

As for us, I'd be looking at some rotation but keeping the same formation given its success today vs West Ham. I hope we can build on today's result, we've been in this situation before on a Saturday night where we feel we can push on, but haven't. Hopefully this time we can start building some form with another positive result on Monday. Schmeichel Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs King Mendy Albrighton Gray Musa Okazaki I'd make one change to my original team selection. Amartey for Mendy.
