Trevor Benjamin.

He was the first player I saw that gave me hope that I could become a professional footballer. He fell over running backwards and even the ref laughed

GEt the fcuk out! Tricky Trev was a god like creature!

Would be fair to say Big Trev didn't quite convince at any of the clubs he played for.....and he's had a few:

For combined wages, transfer fee, attitude and almost total lack of talent, Beckford has to be up there.

Only player I have ever actively had a go at during a match, utter wank, he may have had some ability but his attitude stank.

Lammie Robertson.

Signed from Exeter in 1978 by Frank McLintock. The rumours at the time were that we were after Alan Beer, but were offered Robertson instead.

From the same season - Roger Davies the former Ram. A record signing at the time at £250k

Lammie was short for Lamentable

He was a fraud! Sure he was out injured with a back injury, then he was in the programme saying he helped the builders dig out his swimming pool!!?

He had one decent game and then he was bob!

If only we knew we had a future Seaton Delaval Amateurs player on our books, is that what Taylor meant by "Potential".

Good list make it up to 20 with Mark de Vries, Jacob Laursen in place of Matt Jones, and Kevin Pressman - that goal by the Preston goalie must be the worst we ever conceded. Pressman hadn't really come out that far but was such a fat busted he couldn't get back

This guy without a doubt:

Peter Taylor literally took a player from two divisions below the Premier League and expected him to perform. Unsurprisingly he didn't.

Matt Mills also deserves a mention. Given he was our record fee at one point his attitude was shocking.

His debut was very promising and then the real Junior appeared. Utterly woeful midfielder.
