Obviously done well at Boro but he's hardly an improvement on what we have and where does he fit in the team? Still no defenders in the door. This is what I feared when Pearson and then Walsh left; that we'd become a mess again.

I know the defence is poor but it was at the start of last year but it didn't matter as we were still scoring. Ramirez offers something different and 15m is not huge money.

He'll play in the 10 role, a technically better and stronger player than Okazaki and just the sort of player we need. He works hard and I think if we do sign him he will take a lot of pressure of Mahrez.

They look more likely than us to stay up. As much as we look abysmal at the back I'd also like a bit of creative flair going forward to, as others have said, take the pressure off Mahrez. If we get Gaston with a decent CB I'd be happy. Gaston, CB and a RB and I'd be feeling a tad more optimistic.
