Gaston Ramirez

I actually think the need to hand in a transfer request, is a bad sign. Usually means the club have told him he can't leave.

Look what is happening with Ulloa. We are simply not going to allow him to leave.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next story to come out of Boro, is that he is not for sale in this window and will not be leaving.

Why else would Ramirez be handing in a transfer request, if Boro are ok with letting him go. Bad sign!

agree with this

assume must be to do with 'you can leave if we get a replacement in' and he is now panicking because that looks less likely

saying he wants to leave won't change the dynamics though.

Middlesbrough fan here

Ramirez is a great player, but he isn't consistent at all. Some games he'll set the world alight. Other games you'll wonder if he's playing. Sounds like we are getting jése from Psg which I'm guessing may open the door for Ramirez to leave to you.

Personally believe Jèse is a better player than Ramirez. Would be a massive coup for us.

Sounds just what we need.. Another guy who doesn't turn up 75% of the time!.. He'll fit in just perfectly with the rest of the team.

Nothing definitive yet about Jese from what I gather. Las Palmas and Liverpool are still candidates as well atm.

I like the idea of Ramirez signing, especially if it's £15mill.

when he was a youngster he was touted as a future world star, seemed to go off the boil a fair bit from then but has really stepped up his work rate at boro. A true number 10 could really feed Vardy more who is begging for more service, would also drag some players away from mahrez to be more influential.

Same as mahrez, we're used to it :)

One of these is totally wrong. Boro fan half the games he don't turn up. Vocey he's really stepped his game up while at Boro. Think I'll pass judgement after seeing him for us first.

But think the Boro fan maybe closer to the truth.

So if Boro is nearing a replacement it seems like this is happening....

Excited and apprehensive in equal measure.....

Was one of the most gifted young South Americans 5-6 years ago and our fans have been crying out for some creativity with PL experience. When you're in the shit like we are and it's January and everyone's panicking you're not going to sign proven players with no faults for reasonable transfer fees. One things for sure, he will offer us something DIFFERENT and that is what we need to look at. Right now, we are doing EVERYTHING wrong and although I'm not expecting him to be a superstar, his creative spark might just unlock defences and we all know if we take the lead in games it's a different story to when we go behind. I couldn't give a toss if he comes in and after this season is a peripheral player, we badly need someone right now to try and create a spark, a change.

It's a yes from me.

I think him, Mahrez and Gray can work as a 3 behind Slimani or that cretin from Sheffield.

Never said he was consistent, just that he had showed a higher work ethic at boro than at Southampton/hull where he at times was abit of a passenger. But agree with you, let's see him first.

At least we're not the only club happy to sell off our better players and replace them with untested foreign imports.... what could go wrong

Well if he don't turn up 50% of the time at Boro and he's improved from sotton and hull god help us. It will be our luck the feck all effort guy turns up.

Jesé will do naff all at Borough I gurantee it. Might have one or two decent games in his time but I highly doubt he'll still be there next season. Be similar to Juan Iturbe's loan at Bournemouth.

Not that I'm particularly excited about Gaston, but just need to get him over the line now. Fresh faces are needed to rejuvenate the squad.

We will just boot it over him straight to the forwards (opposition defenders)
