When did we first bid for him? And where are the defenders? Are we waiting for them to hand in transfer requests at the end of the window?

The Majority of deals get done near the window shutting in January. Wilfred Ndidi, Gaston Ramirez and hopfully a defender will be a good January for us don't know why people have to moan and bitch about every last thing.

Because we are the Champions of England and we are in a relegation fight playing like absolute cvnts every single week.

That would seem like a good enough reason to bitch and moan to me lol

Literally can't read the first bit and not be happy.

How spoilt we were last season to be this angry this season.

Who would you have gone for this Jan and how much would your opening bid have been in order for it to be excepted first time like you seem to be demanding?

I don't have access to football clubs so I can't open a line of dialogue re. transfers.

Obviously we blew it in the summer and are playing catch up now. Of course it's harder to do deals in January, especially when the team is bad. Just wondering why we are waiting until five days out to make a bid for a player in a position that isn't even a priority at this point.

Yeah of course it was great and will live long in the memory.

But it's precisely WHY this is so frustrating. The club was at the best point in it's history this summer, financially and reputation wise, and we blew it.

This will be a deadline day deal. And it might not be to us/

We will play hardball. Its the rudkin way... they are not going to fall over themselves to sell to us as they will consider us a rival

They are going to either going to cave in and sell to us on the last day or someone from a place like either turkey or china are going to outbid us and they will accept it and before we know it he will be on a plane signing the deal

:(  sorry for the pessimism i have become ' battle weary'

CAM is a priority as we don't have one.

I know you don't have access to football clubs but humour me Hypothetically who would you have bid for and how much seeing as you are being so critical? I think negotiating transfer fees with other clubs who may not want to sell then negotiating  personal terms with multiple agents and the player is probably more of a complicated process than you are giving the club credit for. Just because it hasn't been reported doesn't mean we haven't bidded/negotiated terms with multiple targets this window. Why not hold judgement till the window has shut?

Totally agree with this. It seems that the majority feel that an absence of hard news or even rumour equals an absence of activity on behalf of those responsible for negotiating transfers. I suspect that the truth is that we are like every other football club and we're tracking a number of targets and are constantly in dialogue with their clubs.

It's like we've headed into the January sales desperate for a new pair of shoes as ours have holes in them. Instead with Ramirez and Ndidi we've got a new belt and tie. Sure we'll look a bit better but will still get wet feet every time we go out.

before we got Ndidi we also needed a new belt because Chelsea was wearing ours and our trousers kept falling down

Maybe he's thinking about relegation from the championship, the defence wasn't too bad then.

It's mad when you think about it. Second best defence in the entire division on average conceding less than a goal a game and bettered only by Palace in fifth, but by far the league's worst goal-getters along with Scunny and Norwich. Have to go up to Wednesday in 16th to find a better goal difference.

Difference this year is we aren't tight at the back or putting the sod in the net.

Didn't we score 4 goals in a few games as well that season? I remember us beating Norwich 4-0 and West Brom 4-1 and I think there was a t least a few 3 goal games as well. Incredible.

Yeah mate we beat Cov by 3 when the Hungarians signed too on I think? Watford at home under Martin Allen early on had 4 past them as well.

Just an update from our side.

Leicester signing Ramirez now looks heavily dependent on 2 things:

1) Leicester reaching our asking price and

2) Us signing our targets.

It looks probable at the moment but we've had issues with Snodgrass as Hull don't want to sell him to us, the Bojan deal hasn't had anything happening in a while and Jese seems like the only one that is certainly going to happen right now.

There's some debate amongst our fans whether signing 1, 2 or all 3 of those players will define whether we let Ramirez go. I'd like to say all 3 but it's looking unlikely at the moment that we will be able to do that. If I was to be realistic, I'd say if we get 2 of those players, we should allow Ramirez to leave.

But unless Leicester match our asking price, he's certainly going nowhere. We seem pretty sure on what we want for him and Karanka doesn't want to lose him so is happy to keep him around if we don't get what we want for him.

On what has made him leave, it sounds like it's the position he's being played in our new system. So I'd say you better hope you play him where he wants to play or you'll have the same problems with him as we currently have. If all the hearsay is true, I'm really quite disappointed in him. We brought him back from the dead almost, the guy had a pre-contract agreement to go back to Uruguay and we resurrected his career in a better standard of league. We worked hard on getting through all the red tape to bring him out of that agreement. I'm almost certain this won't be as simple as bringing on someone for free and selling them on for £15m. I reckon we paid a fairly substantial fee to get him out of that transfer.

On the flip side, he was the difference between us getting promoted and not. He was a class above most and I won't forget that.

I have a feeling we will pay the £15m and get him. I also think Snograss will go to West Ham. You may get Jesé but I doubt he'd be the difference to you staying up or going down.
