I could think of about three million reasons.

True, but if he's said no before I don't see why he'd come to us now. It's a no win in footballing terms imo.

Arsene?? Certainly not 'long term....a'la Guus or Woy.

Silva ?? Let's see whether he keeps Hull up....Yes and he's surely a possible option !

Wenger to us?

we are LCFC - don't forget that.

No manager coming here would be able to beat what claudio achieved so we won't attract anyone experienced of the callibre  of wenger who might want to prove a point with a project.

Can't see him wanting to come here. We are in a very precarious position right now and it would tarnish his good managerial record if he ended up getting us relegated in his last job

Why did the Pearson thread get deleted? Hahaha unbelievable caving into these divs who pretend to be offended by the bloke's name even when it's rightfully being discussed.

I can not imagine any high profile manager would take the job at this stage of the season. They'd have 13 games to stamp their authority and way of thinking/ tactics on a team that is in disarray. Public opinion might argue that's enough time to save us but relegation is still a real possibility and going down could ruin their reputation. A short term appointment is the first option but for someone like hiddink that could still destroy his reputation.

play well and inconceivably win against Liverpool and it will ease the pressure greatly and I think a couple more wins will switch the focus to appointing someone permanently at the end of the season.

It makes you wonder what the priorities of the owners are? Get a high profile manager or someone who really clicks with the players and get the best out of them and if it's the latter, that's a very limited pool of people.

however, one of them is currently In charge of team selection for tomorrow, and 3-4 quick wins and great performances would make it hard not to notice him.

if he is then overlooked for a higher profile name the owners are in real danger of uncovering more holes in a sinking ship in a naive attempt to plug current ones.

i wouldn't say Say shakey is my first choice ( I'm not sure who is) but if we want a return to the ' Pearson days' of  a pressing  game ,team spirit and everyone working for each other, then he has to be our best option until the end of the season at  least....

I'd like Hiddink but maybe that is wishful thinking. Not sure why a guy with his CV, would want to come to a relegation threatened club with 13 games left, especially after we have had so much bad press.

You could argue that the owners could chuck a load of money at him, but doubt he needs it to be honest and at age 70, does he have the motivation anymore?

Mancini as well, I don't think will consider us. He has enough stock still, to be able to have a pick of bigger jobs in the Summer, with lower risk of having a relegation on his CV after.

O'Neill has consistently ruled himself out everytime a vacancy has come up here, and I expect him to do the same again.

Can't see Pearson being wanted by the owners, no matter how we try to spin it.

That leaves names like Pardew, Hodgson and Rowett, or potentially a foreign manager equivalent.

Seeing how the owners have selected previous Managers such as Sven and Claudio, it seems obvious to me that Hodgson fits that same mould and that is who I think they will go for eventually.

I also think he would want the job too.

Wouldn't be my choice by a long shot, but seems the most likely choice now.

Shakey for me all day long. He knows the players knows what they can do and knows what's wrong. He also will have the dressing room behind him from the start.

No guarantees anyone will keep us up so why pay millions for three months.

Australia....South Korea......

He's still known as and lovingly referred to as ''Aussie Guus" here in 2017 (I'm from Melbourne)

Really. Getting a manager now will take persuasion. "So yeah, our last manager helped us do the utterly impossible. But the players weren't that keen, so we sacked him." The closest anology would be telling a prospective CEO that even if he increases profits 500%, we can't guarantee the the staff won't turn on you if the profits fall thereafter." We'll have Shakey until we sell the assumed ring leaders over the summer, I would bet. I certainly would be cautious of managing players suspected ofba coup without having a solid plan of stopping future coups.

buggered if i know, but someone (and as much as i respect the man..i dont think its Shakey) has to walk in the door, be greeted with immediate respect... and then slap 3 or 4 players upside the head.

If the replacement is anything less than world class the players will see him as another to be pushed around while they under perform and blame others..

Good Luck

Unfortunately this is beginning to show what an amateurish operation the football side is, one bloke at the middle desperate to tell everyone how clever he is failing to line anyone up.

I am not sure what this means.

Obviously no manager could win our first ever title win, but they could go on to win it a couple of times, with the FA Cup, Champions League etc thrown in.

No one thought we could win it with CR, so it's ridiculous to use the fact that we are LCFC to say we can't win it again and win other trophies.

Sorry pal but I think this season has shown you the big boys won't allow a team like us to win it again. they won't all go on holiday at the same time in the near future.

Claudio described it as a dream because that's exactly what it was. yes we can compete and even break into the top four on occasions but in my opinion, for us to win the PL again within the next manager's tenure would be even more astonishing than last season.

Don't think he did a great job at Chelsea last season. Only thing he did was not be Mourinho. Might be a good appointment for CL though.

In his first 14 games he went unbeaten, 6 wins and 8 draws.

With what is proven to be a very talented group of players this season (admittedly with additions). A lot of draws in there but actually being hard to beat would help us massively right now.
