Chris wood an a theory regarding relegation

Recommended Posts

Has anyone noticed how Chris Wood seems to be banging in goals for fun, now in terms of size of club Leeds historically a bigger club than Leicester, only difference is the division the championship.

Now last time Leicester were in the Championship we pissed the league by 9 points, Burnley have done the same when they have went down, Newcastle are going to do the same this year go back up.

With the squad Leicester have I think it's far superior for the Championship, the owners wouldn't need to sell anyone they didn't need to, nobody wants to get relegated but if someone like Chris Wood who possibly along with Konchesky is one of the worst players to pull a Leicester shirt on in the last 3 years of prem football can score over 20 goals in championship, when he couldn't hit a barn gate in the premiership, I think a team of Zieler Simpson benny amartey chilwell albrighton king ndidi Lawrence Ulloa Kaputska could stroll the championship next year.

An that teams prob worst case scenario

Chris wood and konch were far from our worst players! Konchesky was a fans scapegoat and Wood on his day was quality.

the difference between the bottom half of the prem and top half of the championship is marginal these days.

Wood was always a decent finisher. In a decent side playing with confidence he has the ability to score alot and that's being proved this season. Best of luck to him. He didn't do anything wrong here and I think you're being harsh on both Wood and Konchesky there.

The same Chris Wood that featured like three times in the premier league? A bit harsh mate. To his credit, Woody was a good finisher, but he was so frustrating to watch. He has come a long way since banging Pearson's daughter, mind you.

He's play 7 games for us in the PL at the tender age of 23 mostly as a sub, and he's had 18 months to develop further.

Nether Vardy or Ulloa managed 20 goals in the Championship.

It's funny really. Konchesky had good delivery and a great shot on him, but he made so many simple mistakes that either cost of goals, got him sent off or very nearly cost us goals. He frustrated me more than anyone at the time.

How many games did Wodd get in the Prem again???

About 7 or 8. He scored against Everton on the opening day, that's all I remember of him that season

Ann Elk had a theory....

...

All Brontosaurus's are thick at one end,  thinner in the middle and thinner again at the far end...

That was her theory!

That team would probably just get into the play offs.

Ulloa was a seasoned pro at the age of 27, Wood is only 25 now, he's spent a time learning his trade, score 70 goals in the process!

so the theory is that we want to go down in order to dominate the Championship ???

Why not keep dropping so we can dominate the mechanics and lawyers who get together to play on Sunday afternoons ??

What the hell

I always said that Wood would be a good player if he had a system that suited him, as a lone forward with decent wide forwards playing off him and him as the focal point. I thought Derby would be a good fit but Leeds have done the same thing. It didn't work so well here becaus we've always been a two up top side.

7 games in the premiership, some of it is just mumblings

Higher quality players should be able to get it done in a lower quality division? Shouldn't that be blatantly obvious? What's the point of this thread?

That is the point I'm making if Leicester got relegated an now the recent win V Liverpool an sacking of Ranieri seems to have raised spirits, an created optimism, that is exactly what Leicester would have in the championship, higher quality players against lower level opposition, as has been stated there isn't much difference between lower premiership an upper championship.

An to reach the next level which is consistent top half a rebuild is needed anyway, I think a clear out is needed more If we stay up than if we go down to push on to that next level consistently.

Do we have a buy-back clause? No? Then why are we discussing this... Look at what Knocky's doing..

He's one of those players for leicester that you hold in the same regard as Kane.... we all thought he was crap too so.... you know!

Didn't wood start like two games and score a decent goal against everton? Think he was a sub in 4 or 5 more.

Chris wood was always okay just not quite good enough for the prem, plus that goal at Watford was one of the highlights of my lcfc life.

Chris Wood, like many strikers, is a confidence player, if he plays regularly and has confidence he will score goals.

Also goes to show how good our scouting network was. A lot of these players were unknown quantities playing for youth teams  (Wood, James, Drinky etc) but have gone on to be pretty good players who we picked up for cheap. We must have had the best scouting network in England over the last 5 years
