I think we will get top half at the end of the season. Another season to remember

Can also see us getting past Athletico and meeting Juventus in the Semi and then getting past them and meeting Real Madrid in the Final.

Keep Dreaming - That should be the new motto for Leicester City even if sometimes the dreams are nightmares.

Also, if we win the ECL outright, that means we automatically qualify for next year at the expense of 4th right,

If Man UTD win the Europa they also qualify for the ECL even if they don't finish 4th so could it be the top two and Man UTD and us.have I got that right?

United and us would need to win for 4th to not get CL. Not sure if 3rd or Man U would have to do the qualifier.

Please let this happen, and for Tottenham to finish fourth!!!  OMG how funny would that be!!

A good time to resurrect this thread...

If Hull beat Middlesbrough tonight,  (which is highly likely,)  then I don't think 40 points is enough for safety.

Think we still need 6 more points to be safe.

I agree with 2 more wins. I think it will take 41-42 points, as Hull have a decent run in and teams like Swansea, Palace, West Ham etc will surely pick up more wins too

That would make it one of the highest totals for survival since West Ham were relegated with 42 in 2003. Personally I think Hull will stay up. I think Swansea will drop with 38 points. West Ham play Arsenal tonight whilst the Swans have Spurs. Swansea then play West Ham on Saturday. If either West Ham or Swansea lose both they will be in serious trouble.

Yeah form is saying 37 or 39 points. 40 is the highest needed in the last eleven seasons. We need a couple more wins to be safe.

Yes please! Seeing Karen Brady try to spin a relegation on twitter when they were bragging about top 6 ambitions this season, would be fun to see lol

38 could be enough depending on the kind of momentum teams down there (nice to say there and not here now) have.

For a short while it looked like Hull and Swansea were spluttering into life whilst Bournemouth and West Ham drop like a stone but with two (Sunderland and Boro) teams effectively sitting there like broken down cars on the starting grid there could be quite a gap between 18th and 19th/ 20th with several clubs trying to avoid being the one to drop in.

At the moment they all have a pulse and are generally stable with new managers settled in and in silly season with strange results it would only take a couple of match days to find West Haaaam or Bore-mouth right in it. The key is how Swansea and Hull do in the next couple of weeks, anything other than very well and I'd say 37 = not enough 38 = could go down to goal difference, 39 = happy days, you've avoided the drop now replenish the loo roll.

Palace have shown how it can be done, tighten up then play a bit more expansively and gradually results will come. Swansea and Hull still look very open but at least they're giving it a go (the footage of Boro fans arriving at the ground at the weekend looked like they were on their way to the dentist, poor sods having to pay to watch 90 minutes of tight defending).

Just imagining the radio phone in's if it is West Ham lol Forget about just giving away the tickets, they'll have to pay for their Essex boys to turn up vs Burton and co.

I wouldn't worry about points. Of course, being statistically safe would be great but it's about how we are playing really. If we keep up like this, we'll be fine.

Can't see both Hull and Swansea winning 4 of their last 8 games.

Yeah I have just worked out there's 5 game swing on Hull - what I mean by that is:-

If they lose five games, they won't catch us.

If they lose just three games, two more wins sees us safe.

mid table and the champions league run would have most fans saying a very good season, we should be safely in the top half by the end of the season. there's a big gap between us and clubs hoping for a Europa league spot so Europe just out of reach so we'll have to keep surprising everyone and win the Champions League! Why not!

Sunderland and Middlesbrough are unlikely to get 36. One of the other teams below us will have a poor run-in so 36 could be enough.

Like crystal palace and there brutal schedule. Still think 35 points will be enough.

At the start of the season on here I said a top 10 finish and progression to the last 16 of the CL would be a good season. So if we finish in the top half, having made the QF of the CL, I'd be very very happy with the season.

Personally I think we need another couple of wins to ensure safety.
