Comparing him to Hamza is like comparing Musa to Ronaldo

to be fair to Hamza he plays in a totally different position to Pennant though

no he hasn't played for Villa

We rarely give youth a chance here either, the state of our academy I can see a few leaving given the chance.

That's because the vast majority of them are nowhere near good enough to play for us.

Heard for years about so and so being the next big thing and they end up with a career in lower league football.

I really hope we keep the 14 year old that I only heard of 40 seconds ago. I'd be distraught if he left.

In your opinion, how does the next few years look in terms of prospects? Harvey Barnes seems to be the next one off the production line. Anyone else worth having hopes for?

Going to be hard to tempt him to stay if his contract is up in the summer and he has offers of clubs like Arsenal and co.

My argument would be, he will have a much better chance of making it to our first team quicker, than at a club like Arsenal.

Hopefully we can hang on to him.

Look.... if he hoes to a big club he will never get at first team start.... with millionaires ahead for a place.  Thats why james and drinky etc ended up with us in the championship.

Hus parents will make the wrong decision i expect

Let's come back to this thread in 2021, be nice if we did have a 'wonder kid' but lot can happen between 14 and 18.

Yeh, he might jack in his paper round,

Lose his cherry, start shaving and boozing.

Would be a shame if we were to lose him as just going off of newspaper hype he seems to be good and with our youngest striker being 28 we need some younger players coming through. Anyone know how Ndukwu and Muskwe are doing in the youth team?

They both can't come through at the same time as we don't have enough W's for the shirt sales

Both have done well this year, but Ndukwu's contract is up in the summer and I've a feeling he'll leave for pursuit of first team football.

Shame we have been so poor this season, if we were in a better position then we could be doing what Everton and Tottenham are doing with some of their youth players. Maybe if we are safe with games to go we could see some coming on off the bench?

I'm not sure either of them are anywhere near first team PL material right now. I raved about Nduwku a few years ago after Muzzy Izzet telling me he was the best kid the club have ever had since academies were introduced but things haven't quite gone to plan with him. This season he's now showing his ability again though, a loan to a League One team would have been very interesting this winter.

I'd have to disagree and i'd rephrase your statement to:

" We give players a chance when we feel they are good enough".

But look at all those we have given a chance to..how many have  gone on to bigger and better things than Leicester? I'd argue Only Heskey in recent years.

We have been fighting either relegation or the hopes of promotion for near on 15 years now.. It feels like something is always at stake.. A player has to be of equal or better than what we have because of this... It's really difficult to blood youngsters in that you 'hope' will make it... There has to be a degree of confidence..
