Our fanbase

Everton are probably the best club to sing it to in the entire pyramid apart from Forest, purely because their fans get so fewwwwwmin about being reminded they've been irrelevant for 30 years.

I (obviously) didn't start YNWA and I didn't join in but having been there, in defence of those that did, it got a sizable reaction out of a lot of the everton fans in the stand next to us.

They were statues for most of the game.

"Our fanbase" were pretty good today and going to places like Anfield and Goodison makes me appreciate how good we are at home too.

Went to Goodison 2 years ago when we drew up there. People can say what they like about our stadium and our fans but we are a million miles better than them.

Goodison Park as a stadium is wasted on Everton fans. One of the worst atmospheres in the league.

I did(start it), and the Liverpool chant simply because it was just getting so boring

People are aware of that. At this moment in time I think it's just sung to rustle other fans. People (other fans) get weirdly triggered by it. People got really angry that LCFC fans sung it to Sevilla. Very bizarre people out there who get butt hurt over a mediocre chant.

We just come across as stupid

5000th post!  For you.

I think the fans that travel the length and breadth of this country (and beyond) on a regular basis are beyond reproach. They can sing what they like as far as I'm concerned, as long as they're making some noise. Well done the traveling blue army :scarf:

Well sorry but it is their song in this day and age, you need to get with the times.

Any 'Leicester fan' singing it is a disgrace.

But surely suggesting it's liverpools song isn't getting with the times.

Ridiculous post. I was at the game and thought it was pretty funny. It actually got a reaction out of them boring twat Everton fans. If your team is losing what do you do? Leave early? Sit there moaning? Or antagonise the opposition fans? I prefer the 3rd option. Don't give a shit if it's another teams song, all songs we sing are done by other teams in different ways. And anyone who comments on this that wasn't even at the game can **** right off. I was at the game and thought our fans were great today

Absolutely agree with this. The YNWA song was a piss take. The Everton fans were quiet and certainly the Leicester fans in the corner kept singing today. It was a fairly happy atmosphere with us more than likely safe, and one eye on the big game to come.

The only embarrassing song was 'You'll never sing that.' I'm sure a fair few in the crowd were around the last time they won it.

Stood there in shorts and t shirt bloody freezing today, no idea what to wear on Wednesday now. :D

Back in the day YNWA was sang by loads of clubs, not sure why Liverpool should own it, especially as Celtic give it much more of a passionate rendition these days.

Very true, in fact i think every clubs fans sung it at one time.

Indeed, i remember we were belting out with Gusto, on the day we beat Oxford on the day that Tony James`s goal kept us up.

Think some need to lighten up a bit. I had a good laugh this afternoon, not overly keen on Liverpool and YNWA but it did get a response from a set of fans who resembled the zombie apocalypse.

"You're just a fat satsuma" was class though lol.

It's like you wrote that just for me and the boys Al! The atmosphere was very good and singing mainly throughout. The Everton fans hardly make any noise at all. The YNWA song was just s wind up for a bit of fun.... When you're 4-2 down, i think that's fair enough!

One good thing about the season ending soon is that we can hopefully dump the terrible "you'll never sing that" song. Which is made worse by chanting it at teams with multiple titles and others with one or two more.

How inconsequential has your life got to be for this to actually bother you

Great atmosphere. Ynwa sang right at the end for banter. I thought it was great and certainly got a reaction.

Lots of armchair comments on this thread.

Great support, close thread.

Anything sang to that I want to go home tune can get in the bin for me. You just get two sets of fans bouncing songs back and forth to it because it doesn't have to rhyme and they've get three it four syllables either side to play with.

Not exclusive to us btw just English football in general.

We'd already embarrassed ourselves by letting a bang average team do the double over us, we might as well rile their fans up (not difficult to be fair)

You can't sink much lower than singing other clubs' anthems. Shoot them before they get back on the coach.

If anybody who was singing that is reading this, hang your head in shame.

Did you manage to hear it on the TV?

Embarrassing but no more than I expect nowadays. I think if our support was how it was a few years ago it'd have probably swung me to going today. The loudest song of the day is YNWA. Where's the pride?

Everton fans are genuinely the worst in the league and nobody is convincing me otherwise.

I'll say that though. I'm very glad we don't have their home support. What a waste of a ground it is.
