Bert Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 What do people think? We are only 4 points behind and having looked at other clubs fixtures I seriously we could sneak there.
Wymsey Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 Would be great, especially after the poor continuous form under Ranieri prior to him leaving. Need to go for it against the lesser teams at home, especially, to have a strong chance of this happening.
urban.spaceman Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 After the season we've had that would be amazing. Shakey should set them the challenge of getting the goal difference up to nil.
EGBFitness Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 Think Southampton will nick 8th spot tbh. 9th or 10th definitely though.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 Would be superb if we can, the sort of position I'd like us to be aiming for long term.
AmarteyAndChill Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 Nah, have people seen bournemouths fixtures? Couldn't get any easier. We won't finish above them. I reckon it's between us and Southampton for 9th though.

katieakita Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 Set up for a big game then last game of the season battle for a higher finish with Bournemouth and an extra £1 and 1/2 million plus per position. Also shows how far we have come to have such a poor period and finish so highly
Libertine Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 Did a predictor earlier and we finished 8th which surprised me. Anything top half I'd be delighted with.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 Just play and finish as not the worst champions ever
Gerard Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 8th is definitely up for grabs for at least half a dozen teams. It's a target we should aim for for not only financial and status reasons but the players can assess our season and ponder the question what if. It will give them a lot of belief that we can challenge the top seven next season.
LegendOfJoe Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 definitely doable, i fancy Southampton for it but reckon we can nick it if we put a good finish together

Matt Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 We definitely could. Only a week or two ago I claimed 8th was out of the question and 9th was the highest we could possibly finish, I thought the gap between 8th and 9th was too much but all of sudden we've reeled 8th in and that is now achievable, very achievable. It's actually turned into a great season, think my aim start of the season was top 6 (I didn't make any target for CL), I had to reassess that several times and lower my expectations, but now i'm highering them again! A top half finish and QF's of the Champions League is a really good season imo. Thankfully we've turned it round because we were only going one way, it was a terrible season, it was getting to the point where I couldn't wait for this season to end. But the fact we can still acheive 8th proves my point that the league is no stronger this season than it was last season (Barr Chelsea), we should have been dead and buried, we were awful, along with Palace the worst team in the league at points this season, I know Sunderland have been bottom all season and poor, but i'd have said at times we were worse! Thankfully we've turned it round and because everyone else is shit we've managed to shoot back up the table. I really do think we can do well and finish high next season.
rn9013 Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 I think 8th is probably a bit too much to ask given our fixtures. Realistically I think Man City will probably beat us, and if we play well in the other 3 I can see us picking up 7 points. That would put us on 47 which I don't think will be enough for 8th, but top 10 would be a great achievement given our predicament only 2 months ago. Ready to to be proven wrong though!
foxoffderby Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 That should be the aim. Shakey has to keep the players motivated and it would be a great achievement.

foxy boxing Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 Would cap a great season if we managed to finish eighth especially after the topsy turvy season it has seemed to be and general concentration on the champions league but a top ten finish would be decent
Guest kristianity77 Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 8th is a possibility. All I want now personally though is to finish Spurs off at our ground, that would do me.
Sir Shep Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 Top half would be nice, all those plastics creaming themselves about us being relegated can FOAD forever then!
iancognito Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 I said a few weeks ago that 8th was do-able as we still had to play the rest of the mid-table cannon fodder like Watford, Baggies & Bournemouth. After the Palace result I thought we'd lost the chance but if we get a point against Spurs or Mancity plus win the other two homes, it's definitely on. 8th and CL QFs is our second best season ever, which given where we were in February is nothing short of remarkable.
