Kasper wanted by Man Utd & Man City

Recommended Posts

Ugh not this again. This could really drag if Real dilly dally with a deal for De Gea and Utd play hardball. Potentially it could leave us in a real hole if Schmeichel does go late in the window so it's good to know that we're actually interested in a potential replacement (Kalinic).

I just hope Kasper doesn't kick up a stink if we reject Utd's likely derisory bid. He's crucial for us and the club have to resist against any interest as much as they can.

If Kasper decides to go we will have to find  two decent goalkeepers one as the regular as Kasper was and a back up keeper that Zeiler was only preferably a lot better! if Kasper goes it is going to leave us in the brown stuff!

Manchester United are confident about their prospects of fending off Real Madrid's renewed interest in goalkeeper David De Gea, with sources telling ESPN FC that the Old Trafford hierarchy are sceptical over the European champions' ability to pay for the Spain No. 1.

Real, who are currently training at the same base as United in Los Angeles ahead of their International Champions Cup fixtures, are expected to make a second attempt to sign De Gea this summer -- two years after dramatically failing to complete a move for the former Atletico Madrid keeper because of a paperwork hitch on deadline day.

While United believe that De Gea is now much more settled in Manchester than two years ago, when his relationship with former manager Louis van Gaal had become strained, there is an acceptance within the club that a move to Real will always be a temptation for the 26-year-old, whose pop star girlfriend Edurne Almagro Garcia continues to live in Madrid.

But with De Gea doing nothing to suggest to United that he wishes to return to Spain this summer, there is no sense of alarm at Old Trafford about his future as a result of Real's inability to raise funds for a deal by offloading players in the transfer market.

Real have been unable to find a buyer for James Rodriguez, instead agreeing to loan the Colombian midfielder to Bayern Munich earlier this month.

And the Spanish champions' hopes of boosting their transfer fund by selling Alvaro Morata to United were ended with Romelu Lukaku moving to Old Trafford from Everton for almost £90m last week.

With Real carrying a huge wage bill, sources said that United are aware that Madrid must first sell players before being able to bid for De Gea.

And with the transfer market becoming inflated this summer -- Kyle Walker's £50m move from Tottenham to Manchester City the latest example of the escalation in fees -- United would expect to receive a huge offer for De Gea before even considering a sale.

Currently, there is a view within United that Real lack the finances to test their resolve over their highly-rated goalkeeper.

Which is exactly what he's got at the moment.

It pains me to say this but we aren't a big club at the moment we have big problems to solve our squad lacks creativity and a decent defence. Our side conceded 63 goals last season in the premier league and finished 12th. That is not big club standard. Although we got to the quarter finals of the UCL this season, next season we can't go to the UCL due to our bad league performance. However we are doing good business in the transfer market so if we mange to fix our problems, then maybe we can become a big club.

Why does that change anything ? Romero is the number two there and would remain so if DDG left and they bought in a replacement.

Honestly don't know why they'd spend loads on Schmeichel when it's debateable how much difference there is between the two keepers.

Kasper is worth more to us than any sensible club would be willing to pay.

Cant see kasper getting the nod ahead of Romero all the time. Kasper makes a mistake he is benched. Wont happen with us.

Also looks like mancity are out too

Sensible club and man u are poles apart.

Let's sell Pogba for 800k then buy him back for 89m

There was a very good interview with Peter about two/three weeks back on Talk sport. Very honest interview or so it seemed. (Not verbatim), he said that Kasper loved the owners and was very happy at the club. However, if the chance ever came up to sign for Utd it would be a very exciting prospect.

That said to me two things:

1. Kasper has no desire to leave

2. If the Utd chance came up, he would be a fool to not think very seriously about it.

He's a lifelong fan, it must be his dream alongside lifting a trophy with Denmark

I think he's been one of our most genuine and consistent players for a number of years. We would miss his presence tremendously as he's very influential in all that we do.

I would hate to see him leave but like certain other players from the past, who always gave of their best, I wouldn't begrudge him his move and would wish him well. Love or hate United, there's incredible family history for him there and they are building into another Champions League every year team again. I think he's worthy of such an opportunity on the big stage. He would however be just another player there at United and not nearly as appreciated by the fans as he is here.

BUT. ..we're building again also with owners showing ambition to reach dizzy heights so who knows. It would be great for him to stay and be made captain and I do genuinely believe that he has a strong affection for our club after all that's happened. Either way I wish him the best in his career.

Ah yeh, so it's taken out of context then because of his dad, If he had a good career with ANY other big club, they would be asking the same question and possibly get the same answer.

Lets face it. Any player who receives an offer from [Insert name of biggest 15 clubs in the world] and they don't already play for any other club in that list, then they would be silly to turn down the offer

Kasper will have the emotional attachment and nostalgia kicking in if United came knocking though, unlike say Chelsea.

Yes, of course he will

As I said earlier in the thread, he was brought up with the likes of Cantona and Giggs knocking on his dad's front door. That emotional attachment is bound to be present.
