But why leave a place he's adored and first choice to go to Arsenal where he will likely get injured and is not Wenger's no 1 target with no champions league football. London? Their training ground/injury minefield is near St Albans it's not even in london. He doesn't seem the nightlife type and probably doesn't drink. They clearly want Lemar as 1st choice. If they really wanted Mahrez they would have got at least close to the asking price by now. If he really wants to go to a side like Barca then he's better off staying put, knuckling down, putting in the hard work and showing everyone he's not a moody 1 season wonder who is often late for training. That's the only reason we haven't had major European sides beating a path to our door to sign him. You can be sure that Barca and teams like that scout everything about a player and turning up late is a major red flag for anyone willing to fork out 50m quid. And after the league winning side every major team in Europe would have watched him. If he stays with Iborra and hopefully Ihaenacho teams won't be able to double mark him as we will have more danger men. He should just release a statement saying it's dragged on too long he wants to focus on this season with us and work hard in pre-season to be ready. Then next year if we are not in Europe and a big side comes in he will re-evaluate then. All would be forgiven and if he had a blinder and left at the end of this season to a major European side hopefully out of the prem. I'm gutted that it doesn't look like we will get Sigurdsson but have to respect the way he has handled himself throughout the speculation. Mahrez has been poorly advised.

They're simply not the kind of club that lashes out loads of money like that.

He would have to up his game to show that he is the kind of player that would fit into a "big" club. Personally I don't think we would miss him if he carries on with last seasons form, but I honestly don't think he would continue to play like that as he wants the dream move and knows he will have to play well to get it. Playing well for one season doesn't get you the move to Barca he dreams of, so he has to crack on and play the best he can. Plus I don't think Shaky and Appleton will let him him keep his starting place if he plays poorly.

But outside Leicester nobody expects us to finish top 6 ever again let alone stay in the PL. Absolutely everyone is convinced we tried so hard not to be relegated every game we accidentally won the league.
