Just respond with the word Cattermole.

Usually shuts him up for half an hour or so.

My primary concern is losing demarai gray in the process because he's not going to get enough playing time. Getting the full asking price of Mahrez has to be the secondary concern.

Well that's confirmed one thing.

That I'm sarcastic :) Genuinely I wouldn't let him go for anything less that 45m. Player of the year, premier league winner and not afraid to take anyone on. He is worth the money.

Although as i've always said and will say once again I can see us letting him go for 20/25m

I cant see any reason why hes new sesaon in leicester will be better than last one,it maybe even worse

i prefer selling him and getting someone even not his kind of player, like Gylfi

Gray isn't good enough to start in the premier league yet wants to play every week. Needs a loan imo.

I'm prepared to lend him £100 at extortionate rates of interest.

How do you work that out.

Logic or me would be get the right amount IF WE have to sell Riyad which is £45m+ first then use the money to buy a replacement or buy a couple who make the starting eleven stronger.

Gray is secondary to me if he wants to go and someone is prepared to pay £20m then he can go too for me as he is potential and no more plus IF HE believes he would start regularly more games at Spurs, Liverpool or Everton then he's bloody stupid.

He will get more game time with us although imo he is not ready to replace Riyad - still to prove an awful lot to be even close to first choice.

Personally I think he is. He makes some strange decisions, but compare that against mahrez of last season, i'd have placed Gray in every week

I agree to this, unfortunately we had probably agreed to allow Mahrez to leave if he gave us one more season, and so if we do price him out of a move (>40m), then we could be stuck with a very unhappy player. I don't think Swansea will get the full £50million they are after, and perhaps will settle with £40m up front with some kind of add-ons.

I think the best we can aim/hope for, is £40million and a move to France or Italy OR a "BIG" club doesn't come in for him, and we get a very determined Mahrez for another 6-12months, trying to earn himself his dream move by rediscovering his form from our title winning season. I'd be ok with either scenario. Selling under £40m or equally, pricing him out of a move he wants would not help Leicester at all.

If the agreement with Marhez was to give us one more year then the deal is null and void because he didn't.  Not leaving and just turning up isn't the same as giving, so stuff him.

Realistically though I think you're right, we're not going to get 50 for him but 40 is fair possibly. Likewise, Swansea won't get 50 for Sig. I think he'll go to Everton for just over 40 plus add ons. Personally I'd be very happy with Ieanacho if the deal is reasonable with the unloading of Musa, Ulloah and Mendy. Being greedy, would still like Gibson and cover for Simpson who for me is still our first choice. I also think he's capable of doing a job on Marhez if he comes back to haunt us in the first game of the season. Hope he clears off abroad though.

Christ, we don't half need the season to start again so that we can start to watch and to talk about some actual football.

What a lot of old tosh on here today..

Well except assists... and goals from open play they average about the same.

29m lol

Look around us. Players are going for ridiculous prices.

You barely get change out of 200m for Lukaku, Walker and Sigurdsson.

Ridiculous prices, yes - but only in the premier league.

A £29m outlay is probably huge for Roma

I cant wait to see the premier league bubble burst

It would be nice for football to become a more competitive, level playing field again.

Modern football has been kind to us in terms of silverware, but it also nearly sent us out of business. It would be typical Leicester for us to be one of the clubs worst affected by any sort of financial collapse within the game!
