I'm sure I read those two and one or two other's have a clause in their contracts that they get a wage rise should a higher earner come to the club, albeit read and being rumour. Potential to break top 5, maybe even top 4. The Champions League takes it out of every Premier League team because there are no easy games in the Premier League. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich can all put out weaker teams on a Saturday, but that is suicide in the Premier League. It is no coincidence that the last two champions have not been in Europe. This year will likely end that streak, but I don't see anyone coasting it like Chelsea just did. I actually think that match day squad is too stacked. Realistically though i dont think we will sign Sigurdsson and Mahrez will leave. To answer your original question, that squad would finish 6 or 7th on paper.
