I would bet on them being top 4 I think that's a hell of a team and in Koeman they've got a good man, Walsh is very good at assessing character of players before signing them too Bolasie average.. personally think Klassen will flop.. dutch league very different. Rooney is past his best.. years and years past. my opinions but they will finish 6th/7th/8th.. my guess 7th
mozartfox Posted 14 July 2017 Posted 14 July 2017 Is this now the Everton appreciation thread? I thought I had logged into Toffees Forum by mistake.

The goals count just the same. Another factor to consider is who the players are on the end of the final passes.

Pickford Coleman Keane Williams Baines Schneiderlin Gueye Bolasie Klaassen Sigurdson Rooney Lookman, Davies, Ramierz, Barkley (if he stays), Mirallas, Jagielka, Lennon, Mori, Besic TBH purely based on a starting 11 if we add Iheanacho I'd say our team is as strong if not stronger. Vardy over Rooney and definitely Iheanacho over Klaasen based on his PL experience and stats. Drinks, Ndidi and Iborra are a strong 3 to rotate in the central 2 positions, vs Everton I dont think there is a lot in it, I'd take an on form, fit Drinkwater over Schneiderlin and Ndidi vs Geuye - possibly the latter currently but I dont think there will be a lot in it going forward. I'd have Albrighton over Bolasie (crap) all day long and Mahrez (if he stays) on his day.. is a different level to Sigurdson. I don't think there's a great deal of difference in quality between Keane and Mcguire, certainly Keane is probably a little further ahead in his progression. Williams- meh, like Huth and Morgan prone to the odd nightmare performance, I'd take Huth over Williams, both good in the air like Morgan. Which leaves Simpson possibly our most consistent player along with Kasper and solid defensively, although Coleman and Baines are the obvious stronger two positions but Baines is past his best as Fuchs probably is also. Kasper over Pickford. Everton are stronger in depth especially across the middle although we have more depth upfront.
lifted*fox Posted 14 July 2017 Posted 14 July 2017 Everton are bobbins and they'll continue to to be bobbins as long as they've got that frankly awful, miserable crowd turning up to every game. Half of these signings will wonder why they bothered joining after half a season of no atmosphere, moaning, booing and crying at even the slightest hint of a poor performance. More fool Gylfi tbh. He could be a major player here and at Everton he'll just be another bit-part player playing under a moody, boring cock of a manager (who will leave next summer when they don't win the league after spending big) in front of shit fans.

If each team had four creative players he would be ranked the worst in the 18th best side. Although he appears to be the master of the dead ball those stats can be misleading as well as it's not as if a replacement wouldn't make goals and assists from dead ball situations. It's like being fooled into a striker being better than what he is because his goal tally is inflated by lots of penalties. IIRC we had 12 penalties in our title winning season. If Okazaki was the designated penalty taker and converted them all he ends up with 17 goals and looks like one of the league's top strikers on the face of it. As I've said before there's little doubt he would improve us but when the price got past £30m his value had gone as he was overpriced, Everton are welcome to him.
gurru991 Posted 14 July 2017 Posted 14 July 2017 Everton seem prepared to overpay for him ... I'm glad that we are not. Good player but never 50 mil good.
Jobyfox Posted 14 July 2017 Posted 14 July 2017 Are we still after Nicky Maynard? Whoops! Sorry ..... wrong thread ....

Wymsey Posted 14 July 2017 Posted 14 July 2017 Please can Iheanacho sign, Mahrez stay and Sigurdsson signs for Everton now so these 3 respective threads can be locked?..

Great Boos Up Posted 14 July 2017 Posted 14 July 2017 I really fail to understand why people call for this thread to be locked yet Troy Deeney still ticks over. He is the most appreciated PL opponent player on this forum since we were promoted. Every window it's 15 is too much, 20 is too much ect. Let me expand on the transfer windows 2014 15m 2014 20m 2015 25m 2015 30m 2016 35m 2016 40m 2017 45m and 40m bid! Just pay the money. Yes it's a lot a money but it's a two season PL success story. If you didn't notice, I've been keen on the fella wearing a Leicester shirt for a few years.
